About Elliott
  • Education: I attended Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University. I also matriculated at Southeastern Bible College. I have plans to finished Seminary within the next few years.
  • Experience: I have been preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ since age nine (9). I was thought to be too young so any chance I was given, on a bus, front porches, etc., I would preach. I was given an opportunity at age 10 to preach at the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Birmingham (Pratt City), Alabama. My Pastor, Reverend Quinton Hammonds was also a youn preacher, so he understood. I was Licensed, ordained, and served as an associated minister there untilI was called to First Baptist Church, Pell City in November 2000. I have been here for almost three years. I am also involved in evangelism around the nation.
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: Be Nice!
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: Its funny because I just heard a message from Jeremiah 29:4-14 called "In the Meantime" that really challenged and changed my life. Pastor A. Glenn Woodberry from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma really blessed me when he preached it.
  • Family: I am married to my bride of almost 2 years. Right now its just us, but we are looking foward to expanding the family shortly!
  • What my parents think of my sermons: My Dad took me everywhere I had to go as a child preacher until he passed away in 1989. My mom and grandparents took up the slack and drove me from preaching engagement to preaching engagement until I could drive myseld. My mom and gradma still come and hear me every now at First Baptist and elsewhere.
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: She thinks I am the best preacher in the world. she has supported my ministry since we first met. Just the other day I was excited about the church coming on television locally, and she was like so when are we going on the WordNetwork! I was like wait just a minute baby lets get on channel 12 first! She says that I should be heard around the world!
  • Books that have had an impact: "Who Moved My Cheese?" by Spencer Johnson.
  • Hobbies: None, but I am looking into Karate and fishing.
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: Well while in celebration of a message (Whooping), I got light headed and passed out for a quick second. What is so funny about it is my children from the church, were trying to keep from laughing but tears were running down there faces!
