ZIMRI attitude!

Psalm 19:13”Keep back your servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me!”

Carelessly indulging in sin is something but deliberately sinning against God is horrible! Despite repeated reminders and warnings, children of our Abide School commit blunders; however, their mind is not grown and matured to understand the repercussions of sin and moreover they come from horrible, abusive background that pushes them into it, hence God compassionately deals with these kids. I caught a young orphan girl copying in the recent exams, I took her aside, spanked her a bit and also cautioned her, this girl felt very bad for her behaviour that she later called me ‘mummy’ for correcting her. Praise God! That is true repentance!

But would you say of a youth leader who takes Bible class in the Church, straight goes and watches a full three hours of secular movie at home! Is watching secular movie a sin you may ask! Ok, do you call the so called ‘item song’ in the South Indian movies clean? Do you call the blood and the violence that is depicted in the movies healthy? There is nothing beneficial and befitting from such trash, hence I say stay away; friend, select what you feed your mind and be careful. Do not deliberately feed garbage to your mind and damage your soul! Stay away from deliberate sins!

In Numbers chapter 25, we read of a young man called Zimri who was the son of Salu, chief of a father's house who takes Cozbi a Moabite woman into a tent, in the sight of Moses and in the sight of the whole congregation of the people of Israel, while they were weeping in the entrance of the tent of meeting. What makes his arrogance more heinous is the way he walks past Moses and the other elders while he holds hands with a Moabite woman. His arrogant attitude was to say, ‘I don’t care about you Moses or any of you guys, I go my way!’ We find this ‘Zimri attitude’ everywhere today. Don’t we? Real daring. The woman that he takes into the tent is not his wife and this guy was from no ordinary family but he was the son of a chief! God’s anger arose against this family and Zimri that Phinehas the son of Eleazar, rose up immediately and goes into the tent with a spear and kills them both at one shot. Deliberate, atrocious, daring, rebellious sinners who know about the TRUTH and yet sin, would be punished severely and it would be fatal like this at times! Be warned! I get emails from young men who are baptized, church-going Christians, who tell me, ‘I am addicted to pornography and many other things’, be warned today. Make every effort, I repeat every effort to get delivered. Do not procrastinate; salvation of your soul is much more important than promotion and increment. Are you listening? Stay away from yakking much with other women if you’re married! Same goes with ladies as well! Friend, today I’m taking about an enemy that would come flexing the muscles but I am talking about a beautiful, smooth-talked devil that would come subtly to entice and destroy you!

‘Zimri attitude’ is found everywhere today! I ‘don’t care attitude! Caveat! God’s wrath would come swiftly and suddenly! Guard yourself from lust!
