Summary: A word that helped many through our congregation.

Your God-Ordained Destiny Romans 8:31-34NKJ

Some years ago, a so-called “human fly” went to Los Angeles. It was announced that on a certain day he would climb up the face of one of the large department store buildings. Thousands gathered to watch him perform this seemingly impossible feat. Slowly and carefully he made his way upward, now clinging to a jutting brick, again to a cornice. Up and up he went. At last he was near the top. He was seen to feel to right and left and above his head for something firm enough to support his weight. And soon he seemed to spy what looked like a gray bit of stone or discolored brick protruding from the smooth wall. He reached for it, but it was just beyond him. He ventured all and leaped for it. But before the horrified eyes of the spectators, fell to the ground and was broken to pieces. In his dead hand was found a spider’s web! He had mistaken it for a stone. What’s the lesson: Don’t grasp for things that are unstable and anchor yourselves to the God who has our destiny in His hands.

Romans 8:31-34NLT What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? 33 Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.

Verse 31, true translation is, “Since God is for us...” The setting here is the divine court room, Paul makes, declares with full knowledge mixed with godly zeal, that his words are one hundred percent truth, because of the reality of Jesus Christ.

This morning, to reach your God-ordained-destiny you must do these seven things.

“The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be.” (Ralph Waldo Emerson)

The first choice you must make is, “Refuse to give into wrong thoughts. Guard your mind.”

2 Corinthians 10:4-5NKJ (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Again, “Refuse to give into wrong thoughts.”

Resist any temptation toward introspection. Self-analysis, Self-examination.

That’s the Holy Spirit’s right and privilege, He’s the only One that can search the heart and minds of men.

1 Corinthians 2:10NLT But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. For his Spirit searches out everything and shows us God’s deep secrets.

Fight, using God’s word.

Through difficulty, pain, loss, grief, and even testings- God’s word won’t fail!

2 Corinthians 10:4TM The tools of our trade aren’t for marketing or manipulation, but they are for demolishing that entire massively corrupt culture.

Listen to the still small voice of God within.

Romans 8:34NLT Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, (con’t)

and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us.

“He’s praying, encouraging; He’s not condemning!”

Decide today that you will spend unhurried time with Him, and you’ll thrive. Have some pause time!

Shift to a higher level of faith.

Romans 8:33NLT Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one—for God himself has given us right standing with himself.

God’s defending you!

Before David killed Goliath, David killed a loin and a bear. God’s anointing will increase!

Again, “Shift to a higher level of faith.”

Get into proper alignment.

God’s aligning His people together; those who will stand before devil’s one day under God’s anointing.

Romans 8:32NKJ Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?

Ask God to give you understanding about the place you’re in presently.

Romans 8:31NLT What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?

Again, “Ask God to give you understanding about the place you’re in presently.”

Today, I want you to press through and seize your God-given destiny!

Benediction.
