Summary: According to Jn 2:18-21, our Lord Jesus revealed that His body is the Temple of God. And because He is the pattern man, He indirectly reveals that in the beginning the body of man was designed to be a Temple of God.

When the Lord God in Genesis 2:7, breathed the breath of life into the nostrils of man; not only did man became a living soul, man equally became a Temple of the living God, this is in accordance to the revelation of Jesus Christ in John 2:18-21

The believer in Christ Jesus, as a new creation; possesses a body that is a Temple ( a host) of the living God. And this is made effectual by the indwelling presence of the Spirit of God in them ( 1Co 3:16, Jn 14:16-17)

The implication of being a Temple of God, is that the average believer in Christ has became a medium by which the power, wisdom, virtues, goodness of the Living God can be showcased to a dying world.

As a Temple of God; every believer in Christ Jesus has the Living God dwelling, walking and working in them ( 2Cor. 6:16, Philippians 2:13).

And like Jesus whose body was/is the Temple of God, and had a body anointed with the.Holy Ghost and power, so every believer as a Temple of God, equally has being anointed with the Holy Ghost and power to go about and do good ( Acts 10:38) as well as Show forth the.praises of God ( 1 Peter 2:9).

The indwelling presence of the Spirit of God in the believers is the reason why the scriptures says greater is He that in them that he that is in the world( 1John 4:4)

The body of the believer in Christ Jesus being the Temple of God is one of the foundations upon which their role as NT Priests/Saints stands.

And become to whom much is given much is expected, the believer in Christ as a Temple of God is expected to master how to

-make the Temple of God, remain holy (1 Cor. 3:17),

- Make the Temple of God a house of prayer ( Isaiah 56:7) by being men/ women of prayer.

- use the.word of truth to cleanse themselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit ( 2Cor 6:16- 7:1, 1Co 3:17, Jn 15:3, Mal. 3:1-3)

-As well as master how to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God by Jesus Christ (1 Peter 2:5).

The revelation of body of the believer as a Temple of the Living God, is one of the exceeding great and precious promises given unto the believers in Christ Jesus by which they are enabled to really partake of the divine nature. ( 2 Peter 1: 4) and live the higher life above sickness , diseases, demonic oppression, demonic manipulation, every work of the devil etc that the believer has been ordained to live on this earth (Romans 8:11,Rev. 5:10).
