TITTLE: YOU CAN SAY NO NEGATIVITY

TEXT: 1 CHRONICLES 4:9-10

9 And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow. {Jabez: that is, Sorrowful} (KJV)

10 And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested. (KJV)

INTRODUCTION

This life is full of troubles, sorrows, calamities, manifestation of curses and evil. There are enemies of destiny working day and night tirelessly against the purpose and plan of God concerning us. Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. {KJV}

IV. HOW TO SAY NO TO NEGATIVITY

V. SOME BENEFITS OF SAYING NO TO NEGATIVITY

I. WHAT IS NEGATIVITY?

1. Curses, shame and reproach in manifestation. 1Chro.4:10; 1Sam.1:5-7

1Sam. 1:5 -7 But unto Hannah he gave a worthy portion; for he loved Hannah: but the LORD had shut up her womb.

6 And her adversary also provoked her sore, for to make her fret, because the LORD had shut up her womb.

7 And as he did so year by year, when she went up to the house of the LORD, so she provoked her; therefore she wept, and did not eat.

2. Limitation and rejection Judges 11:1- 10

Now Jephthah the Gileadite was a mighty man of valour, and he was the son of an harlot: and Gilead begat Jephthah. {Jephthah: Gr. Jephthae} {an harlot: Heb. a woman an harlot}

2 And Gilead's wife bare him sons; and his wife's sons grew up, and they thrust out Jephthah, and said unto him, Thou shalt not inherit in our father's house; for thou art the son of a strange woman.

3. The operation of the devil and his agents in your life. Gen. 39:7-9; Luk. 13:16; 22:3

Lu 13:16 And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?

Lu 22:3 Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve.

II. WHY YOU MUST SAY NO TO NEGATIVITY?

1. Because you must fulfill destiny. Jer. 1:5; Gal. 1:15-16

Jer.1:5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

Gal. 1:15-16 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace,

16 To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood:

2. Because what you are going through is the work of the devil. Matt. 17:14-18

And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a certain man, kneeling down to him, and saying,

15 Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatick, and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water.

16 And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him.

17 Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me.

18 And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour.

3. Because God did not create you for problems Jer. 29:11

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

III. WHO CAN SAY NO TO NEGATIVITY?

1. Only those who are born again and full of Holy Spirit can say no. John 1:12

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name

2. Those who knows their right in the kingdom? Lk. 10:19; Dan. 11:32

Lu.10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Dan.11:32 And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong and do exploits

3. The mercy of God can say no for an individual. Mark. 10:47-52; John. 5:1-9
