You Are God's Treasure

Greetings in the mighty name of Jesus Christ to all the chosen treasured possessions of Lord Our God. Yes! As Ephesians 2:10 says “We are God’s masterpiece”. As a normal human being if we are given a treasure, we tend to place it in the safest place. We will have a look on it whenever possible. We used to admire it, adore it, we keep on thinking about it, we can’t tolerate even if a minor damage occurs to it. We will be much more careful about it. Bible says in 1 Corinthians 6:20

“You were bought at a price”

Bought at a price indicates that we are His chosen property and His chosen treasure. The great God who laid down his life for the sake of us will take care of us more than any other men/women. He knows very well what to provide? When to provide? How to provide? Our timing may fail, our thinking may fail, our strength may fail, our ways may fail, but our Owner never fails. We can be assured of the fact that (Isaiah: 55-8, 9)

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,

neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD.

For as the heavens are higher than the earth,

so are my ways higher than your ways

and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

God cannot lie and He is not a man to lie. We can take an example from Bible to understand how man’s thoughts are not God’s. Let me put that into three questions: When was Moses born? Where was Moses brought up? How was Moses called by God?

1. When was Moses Born?

CASE 1: As Israelites kept on multiplying Egyptians decided to deal shrewdly with them, they increased their burdens but that did not stop their multiplication. Moses was not born in that period. (Exodus 1:10-14)

CASE 2: Pharaoh commanded the midwives to kill all the sons born to Hebrew women, but the midwives were God fearing there was a partial possibility for boy child to survive because of midwives. Moses was not even born during that period. (Exodus 1:15-17)

CASE 3: Finally Pharaoh commanded all his people saying “Every son who is born you shall cast into the river, and every daughter you shall save alive”. The possibility of survival is 0% and that’s when Moses was born. Our God does not think as we think, if we are given a chance we would choose either CASE 1 or CASE 2. That’s how He plans for his property.

2. Where was Moses brought up?

Exodus 1:22 says that it was Pharaoh’s commandment to all “HIS” people, which obviously includes his daughter. On seeing a Hebrew boy child in the basket in the river, she could have just flipped the basket, on doing that she could have fulfilled her father’s command. As a normal human we would never expect compassion from the daughter of the one who wanted to kill us, but with God nothing is impossible. The Lord can take the evil of men and use it for immense good. Moses began his life with the best of everything- all the finest opportunities and education that naturally accompany being royalty and that would be necessary for him to become the deliverer of Israel.

3. How was Moses called by God?

At first Moses tried in his timing to save Israelites. The Lord was going to deliver the Hebrew people and make them a new nation, but it was not going to happen by one man killing one soldier. Rather it would happen in His timing and in His way. God says in Exodus 3: 10

“Come now therefore, and I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring My people, the Children of Israel out of Egypt?”

When we continue reading we could figure out that Moses refused God’s call 3 times (Exodus 3:11, Exodus 4:1, Exodus 4:10). In other words he under-performed the interview. In our day to day life if we are repeatedly rejecting the job offer, obviously we won’t get that job. But if God has a plan for us no man not even us can stop God from fulfilling his purpose in our lives.
