Plan for: Thanksgiving | Advent | Christmas

Sermons

Summary: I preached this short message at our Christmas Even event. It was preceded (of course) by singing a number of Christmas carols. It was an attempt to include everyone who attended in the Christmas Story. I have several people help read through the long passage of Scripture.

You are a Part of the Story of Christmas

Luke 2:1-20

Read passage…

One of the exciting things about the Christmas story is that you are part of the story.

I. God sent His Son because he loves you.

1John 4:10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,

II. God sent his Son with a very specific purpose.

A. It was not God’s purpose to just send Jesus on an

adventure to the world.

B. It was not God’s purpose just to show us how a

perfect life can be lived.

C. God sent his son to be the Savior of the world.

1John 4:14 ¶ And we have seen and do testify that

the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.

III. Your part comes as you believe in Him.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

A. The baby in the manger is the Savior in whom I

trust.

B. Your part comes in having a relationship with Him.

1. You talk to Him. (Prayer)

2. He talks to you (Bible reading)

3. We talk to other people about him.

Conclusion

So, how is your relationship with the Savior?

By the way, even if you don’t believe, you are still

part of the story.

John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hat everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Will you trust Him and find eternal life on this Christmas Day?
