Plan for: Thanksgiving | Advent | Christmas
To emphasize the transformative power, blessings, and necessity of saying 'Yes' to God and His divine plan for our lives.
Good morning, brothers and sisters. We are gathered here today to delve into a profound passage from the Book of Matthew, chapter 5, verse 37, where Jesus instructs us simply: "But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’ For whatever is more than these is from the evil one." It's a message of clarity, a message of commitment, and above all, a message of obedience to God.
Let's take a moment to reflect on this powerful verse. What does it mean to say 'Yes' to God? How can this simple word transform our lives and bring us closer to our Creator?
Renowned Christian author, Rick Warren, once said, "God's plan for your life is happening right now... It doesn't begin when you get married or when you get your dream job or when everything feels perfect. You are IN the plan." Can you see the power in that? When we say 'Yes' to God, we are saying 'Yes' to His divine plan for our lives.
Now, let's bow our heads in prayer. Dear Heavenly Father, as we explore the depth of Your Word today, we ask that You open our hearts and minds to the revelation of Your truth. Teach us to say 'Yes' to You in every aspect of our lives, trusting in Your perfect plans and promises. We pray for Your guidance, Your wisdom, and Your understanding as we study Your Word today. In Jesus' name, Amen.
