Wrong Way-Right Way

Today I have a very simple lesson. It may be simple to most of us, but to someone who has never heard the message of salvation, it may not be that simple.

I want to talk about the wrong way and the right way today. Read Proverbs 14:12.

So the bible tells us that if man tries to choose the way to get to heaven, it may end up being the wrong way. There are a lot of false teachers in our world today. They will tell you there is more than one way to get to heaven. But for us who are Christians, we know there is only one way to get to heaven. Jesus told us in John 14:6, " I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father but by Me."

So Jesus tells us that the only way to get to the Father, to God, is to go through Him, Jesus. And where is our heavenly Father? In heaven. Let me explain this this way.

One time I was going to take a trip and so I asked a friend which was the best way to get there. He told me what he thought was the best road. Then I happened to come across another friend. And I asked him the same question. He also told me what he thought was the best road. But it was entirely different from the way the first friend had said.

So I got a map. I traced the route that I thought would be the best way. Then I went online to Google Maps and asked what would be the best and quickest route to go. I ended up following the route from Google Maps and sure enough, I arrived at my destination by simply following their instructions.

It's a simple matter when we are planning a trip to have a map or google maps tell us the best way to travel. But how can we find the way to heaven?

You might ask a friend and I'm sure you would get some kind of answer. Then you could ask another friend and you would probably get a different answer. So. what should you do? Who would be right?

You can do what I did when I was looking for earthly directions. But instead of using a map like this, or going to google maps to find the way, you could use God's map. Do you know what God's map is on finding the way to heaven?

The Bible is God's perfect map to show us the way. We have already found God's way to heaven when we listened to what Jesus said and told us that He is the way.

So how can you get to heaven? By trusting the Lord Jesus as your Savior. He is the way to the Father and where the Father is, there is Heaven.

Many of you here today have probably asked Jesus to be your personal Savior. If you have done that then you have no worries about how you will get to heaven. You have already trusted Jesus to show you the way.

But you might be here today and have never made that decision to have Jesus Christ as your Savior. If that is you, I urge you to go to Jesus in prayer and ask Him to come into your heart. It is that simple. Jesus tells us clearly that He is the way for us to get to heaven. So, accept Him today. Start living your life for Him. Ask Jesus to guide you from this day forward.

And then follow the example of Jesus by being baptized in His name. Baptism will not get you to heaven, accepting Jesus as your Savior will get you to heaven. But

baptism is your first step of obedience after accepting Jesus as your Savior. Won't you make that decision today?

I ask that we listen to Your word today and that we follow Your map to get to you in heaven. Touch every heart here today and draw us closer to You. I thank you in advance for the decisions that will be made in Jesus’ name amen.
