Sermons

Summary: Worship is something that takes place in heaven continuously forever and ever and we just partake in or join in on Sundays. Heaven and its Hosts continuously worship God, and we just join or participate in it for some time from earth.

The four living creatures, each having six wings, were full of eyes around and within. And they do not rest day or night, saying: “Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, Who was and is and is to come!” Revelation 4:8

Worship is not something we do or participate when attend the church on Sundays (before the sermon). Worship is something that takes place in heaven continuously forever and ever and we just partake in or join in on Sundays. Heaven and its Hosts continuously worship God, and we just join or participate in it for some time from earth. Worship is not an individual show but an entire community of heaven and earth praising God. Since God is eternal and worship also should be eternal. It should not be time bound.

Our worship maybe just for some time before the sermon, but heaven’s worship goes on continuously nonstop forever and ever. Living creatures keep on singing and praising God - day and night without rest. We must remember that when we worship, we also partake in or join along with the heavenly hosts in their worship of God. It might not be the same song or melody as heaven but it’s with same posture we adore and praise to God.

When we worship God, let us think that we are before the throne of God and are worshipping along with the heavenly hosts. How wonderful our worship will be if we can imagine it. Let's adopt the mindset that our worship is not just limited to 1 hour or 30 min before the sermon but let it continue throughout the week. When we have time, every now then, join the heavenly hosts in worshipping God. Worship is a lifestyle.

We might get tried by listening sermon for some time, but we can never grow tired by worshipping God. Worshiping God never wears you out but refreshes you. As Heaven’s worship continues day and night without rest, we can also worship continuously day and night without rest. Maybe living creatures continue to worship without rest, because their rest itself is worshipping God. Their primary purpose in life is worshipping God.

Worship is about giving Jesus the right praise and adoration he deserves, not about the song we sing or the music we play. The right praise and adoration to Jesus comes from the understanding - how much Jesus has done for us on the Cross and how much sin has separated us from God. We will recognize the need for a Savior only when we understand the extent (or great depth) to which sin has ruined, destroyed, and separated us from God. Sin has kept us at North to south pole from God. The only one who can show the extent (great depth or magnitude) of sin, how far it has separated us from God, and the necessity of a Savior is the Holy Spirit. Ask Holy Spirit to reveal about Jesus and automatically your worship overflows.

Worship can be in a single word or a single song, but it must originate from the heart, always remembering that we are also before the throne worshipping God.
