Summary: Let us live our lives honoring Jesus Christ as our Only God every day, not just on Christmas!

We celebrate Christmas because Jesus was born on earth as Savior for all people. Our children presented it earlier from God’s Word, the Gospel of Luke… Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord! Do you and I profess Jesus Christ is our Only Savior?

Jesus Christ is the Savior because He grew up to be a man who never sinned against God and died for people’s sins. Again from God’s Word, 1 Peter 2…21 To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps. 22 “He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth.” 23 When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly. 24 “He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.” 25 For “you were like sheep going astray,” but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.

Do you and I profess Jesus Christ is our Only Savior?

Jesus Christ is the Savior because He rose from the dead and ascended back to heaven. John 16:28 tells us

"I came forth from the Father and have come into the world; I am leaving the world again and going to the Father." Do you and I profess Jesus Christ is our Only Savior?

Jesus Christ is the Savior because right now, He is in heaven praying for each one of us who believes in Him! Romans 8:34…Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Do you and I profess Jesus Christ is our Only Savior?

Jesus Christ is the Savior because one of these days He will return to earth to judge the living and the dead and take to heaven all who believes in Him!

The Apostle Paul states in 2 Timothy 4:8…in the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing. Do you and I profess Jesus Christ is our Only Savior?

Now, we have noted the truths about Jesus Christ after He was born on earth. What are the truths about Jesus Christ before coming to earth as a human baby?

From the very beginning of God’s Word, we can note the plurality of God. When God created people, God said “Let us make man in our own image!” When Jesus was baptized by John, we hear the voice of God the Father and God the Holy Spirit appearing as a dove. There is only One God who exists for eternity in 3 Persons (God the Father, God the son Jesus Christ, and God the Holy Spirit)!

And again in God’s Word, the word Word in the Gospel of John is Jesus Christ….. John 1:1-3… In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. Jesus Christ is the Savior because He was already God in eternity past! Do you and I profess Jesus Christ is our Only Savior?

Let us conclude with these thoughts….

Jesus Christ is our Only Savior because He has always been a living God, who created all people, the earth, and the entire universe! Do we see Jesus in this way, God eternal, or do we just see a baby born in a manger?

Let us always profess that Jesus Christ is our Only Savior!

But also,

Let us live our lives honoring Jesus Christ as our Only God every day, not just on Christmas!
