Contributed by Wade Martin Hughes, Sr on Apr 29, 2015 (message contributor)
Summary: Could there be something worse than a quitter? Fear can paralyze us far short of our goals... We must TRY, and TRY again... THE SCARECROW is a terrible tool!

WORSE THAN A QUITTER?
I CAN'T ---- PARALYZED BY FEAR
DO YOU UNDERSTAND THE VALUE OF A SCARE CROW
By Wade Martin Hughes, Sr. Kyfingers@aol.com
I. BECOME WHAT YOU BELIEVE.
Matthew 9:29 (KJV) Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.
Matthew 9:29 (NIV) Then he touched their eyes and said, "According to your faith will it be done to you";
Matthew 9:29 (NLT) Then he touched their eyes and said, “Because of your faith, it will happen.”
Matthew 9:29 (MSG) He touched their eyes and said, "Become what you believe."
II. THERE MAY BE GENIUS BEHIND THE ABILITY TO PARALYZED BY FEAR.
I HAD A REAL DREAM ONE NIGHT THAT I HAVE PONDERED MANY TIMES.
A. In my dream I saw this very long power line running from pole to pole.
On the power line were several thousand birds, sitting there screaming and I could
tell they were fussing and complaining about something.
I looked down from the power line and there was a huge field of very ripe
strawberries. The birds of all sizes were making loud noises.
Some of the birds were falling off the power lines, starving to death.
I pondered WHY ARE THEY DYING HUNGRY WHILE THERE IS FOOD COVERING
MANY ACRES? FOOD A PLENTY?
My eyes glanced over the field and there was ONE, SICK LOOKING SCARE CROW.
A STRAW MAN IN TADDERED ON CLOTHES HANGING ON A STICK IN THE MIDDLE
OF THE STRAWBERRY PATCH.
THE SCARE CROW HAD THE BIRDS PARALYZED BY FEAR.
THE SCARE CROW WAS USING FEAR AND YET HE WAS HARMESS.
HE COULD DO NOTHING BUT BREED FEAR.
THE MORE FEAR HE ANNOUNCED THE MORE FEAR THERE WAS.
LATER I LOOKED DOWN ON THE SCARECROW AND I SAW A BIG FAT BIRD
EATING A JUICY STRAWBERRY AND HE WAS GRINNING EAR TO EAR.
A SCARECROW IS A TOOL THAT FRIGHTENS AWAY AND HE CAN HARM NOTHING...
B. TRIUMPH IS TO TRY WITH A LITTLE ---UMPH BEHINF THE TRY.
SMART PEOPLE, PRETTY PEOPLE, TALENTED PEOPLE do not always
accomplish greatness on the first try. Often we must TRY and TRY again...
C. Great things, the best things in life do not always appear on silver platters to those
that feel ENTITLED and they DESERVE IT. Often times the real meaning and
deeper things in life COME TO THOSE THAT REFUSE TO QUIT.
YOU MUST KEEP ON KEEPING ON AND PERSIST NO MATTER HOW DARK
THE NIGHT OR HOW DIFFICULT THE DAY....
D. YOU KNOW THE DIFFERENCE IN SCAMBLED EGGS --- YESTERDAY
In 1995 a man named PAUL McCARTNEY was working on a new project and
he grabbed a pen and paper to write a song and PENNED THESE WORDS:
" SCRAMBLE EGGS, OH MY BABY, HOW I LOVE YOUR LEGS!"
You have never heard that song? Why, he threw the paper away.
BUT HE NEVER QUIT --- LATER HIS PEN CONTINUED WRITING---
" YESTERDAY, ALL MY TROUBLES SEEMED SO FAR AWAY..."
The world has heard that song over 6 million times in a few years. Yesterday
has set many records as being one of the most popular songs ever played.
This song was McCartney favorite song.
THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SCRAMBLED EGGS, OH BABY,
HOW I LOVE YOUR LEGS AND YESTERDAY, ALL MY TROUBLES SEEMED
SO FAR AWAY IS:
1. Greater effort
2. Persistence
3. Never give up, TRY AGAIN
E. Is is possible that the people that say IT CAN'T EVER BE DONE, will be
passed by the people DOING IT...
WHAT IS WORSE THAN A QUITTER?
MAYBE A PERSON THAT WILL NEVER TRY?
SURRENDER BEFORE THE BATTLE?
1 Samuel 17:24 And all the men of Israel, when they saw the man, fled from him, and were sore afraid.
A. MANY GREAT, TRAINED AND EQUIPPED SOLDIERS STOOD ON THE BATTLE FIELD
AND LISTENED TO ONE MAN'S NEGATIVE MESSAGE, YOU CAN'T DO IT!
The great soldiers returned each night to their tents and cried much of the night.
The OBSTACLE BEFORE US IS GREAT THAN WE ARE?
It took a small lad that had faced the bear, the lion, and a history of quitters
to say.
1 Samuel 17:32 And David said to Saul, Let no man's heart fail because of him; thy servant will go
and fight with this Philistine. 33 And Saul said to David, Thou art not able to go against this Philistine
to fight with him: for thou art but a youth, and he a man of war from his youth.
1 Samuel 17:45 Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a
spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the
armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.
III. SURRENDER FOR THE FIGHT? FOCUS ON THE NEGATIVE,,,
