Why God is NOT more tolerant than He used to be
This week we will continue with the “Lies About God”.
This week, Lie #2 – God is More Tolerant Than He Used To Be
I’m going to make this so clear, so plain, so down to earth that even a child can understand it.
Point 1: 1 + 2 = 3
Do you SEE this?
Do you UNDERSTAND this?
Do you BELIEVE this?
Really does not matter whether you believe it or not
IT IS TRUE!!!!!!
You can choose not to believe it
You can tell others it is not true
You can believe 1+2=4
You can reject 1+2=3
BUT 1+2=3 Does now… did yesterday… will tomorrow.
It is mathematically impossible for 1+2 to equal anything except 3.
DO YOU UNDERSTAND THAT?????
POINT 2 The wages of sin is death
Do you understand that?
DON”T ANSWER YET!!!!
WHY??? Why are the wages of sin death?
“Because God said so.” WRONG!
It was true BEFORE God said so…. It is an eternal law
Why is it true…… follow me!
Sin + Holiness = WRATH/Punishment/death
Do you see that?
Do you understand that?
Do you believe that?
IT IS TRUE
THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT
YOU CAN’T CHANGE IT
The only way to change the result of the equation is to change one of the parts of the equation.
If you change the 1… or the 2, then the 3 will automatically change.
If the 1 becomes 4, the 3 becomes 6
In the biblical equation, sin + Holiness = Wrath…. If you can change the sin or the holiness, the wrath will change.
Can we change the sin?
NO!!!!!
All have sinned…. You can’t change that.
You can say you have not sinned
You may believe you have not sinned
Others may help you accept you have not sinned
YOU HAVE SINNED……. ALL have sinned.
All= every created being with a free will who have lived long enough and has sufficient ability to understand the choice = people… ALL PEOPLE
YOU can’t change the all.
Sin- many want to change sin by calling it something else
Mistake, shortcoming, personality flaw, misunderstanding, moment of weakness, etc
Some want to change it by reducing it…. Deciding it is not a sin.
BUT YOU CAN NOT CHANGE SIN
SIN IS SIN
ALL HAVE SINNED
Just like with the mathematical equation where you could not change the 3, you could not make it more or less….
You can not change the WRATH…. The wages of sin
You can deny it… choose not to believe it, rationalize it away, deem it unfair, condemn it as barbaric, pronounce it unloving.
The only thing left to do is to change the Holiness.
1 + 2 = 3 You can’t change the 3 You can’t change the wrath
You can’t change the 1 You can’t change the sin
The only thing left is the change the 2 THE HOLINESS
THE ONLY WAY GOD CAN BECOME MORE TOLERANT IS TO BECOME LESS HOLY!!!!!
Here is the big question…. Is God less holy today than he was in Moses’ day? NO
Is God less holy today than he was in Adam’s day? NO
Is God less holy today than he was in eternity before any creation? NO
Is God MORE holy today than in Moses’ day? NO
God IS NOT…. CAN NOT BE more or less holy than before.
It is impossible for God to become more or less ANYTHING
If he can become MORE…. Then he was not “ALL” = NOT GOD
If He becomes LESS……. Then he is not “ALL” = NOT GOD
God’s Nature DOES NOT CHANGE
He IS Eternal
ALL POWERFUL
ALL KNOWING
HOLY
He can’t become less of any of those things.
Let’s review…
1+2=3
Sin + Holiness = intolerance/wrath
Can’t change the 1 ------ Sin
Sin is sin
God determines what is sin
All have sinned
Can’t change the 3 --------- WRATH
Natural result
Eternal law
Automatic
Only thing left is to change the 2 ------- Holiness
God can not change.
Do you see the utter hopelessness of that statement, “The wages of sin is death.”
There is no way to change 1 --- sin
There is no way to change 2 --- holiness
There is no way to change 3 --- wrath
EVEN FOR GOD
God can not change 2 --- holiness
God can not change 3 --- wrath…. He’d have to change 2
God looked at the impossibility and said, “I can change #1.”
Now…. He could not just deny the reality of 1…. Because of 2
He could not just overlook the sin Because he was holy
He can’t decide to change 3……………. Because of 2
Whatever way he decided to change #1 had to be true to #2
