TO TRUST OR NOT TO TRUST? THAT IS THE QUESTION?

WILL WE POSSESS THE PROMISE?

DO WE KNOW THE COUSINS FEAR AND DOUBT?

I. WHAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU KNOW?

SURE, I TRUST GOD!

SURE LIGHT AND DARKNESS CAN NOT CO-EXIST...

A. First thing you know, Jed's a millionaire,

Kin folk say Jed move away from there,

Said California is the place you ought to be...

So they loaded up the truck and moved to Beverly...

Jeremiah 29:11 (MSG) I know what I'm doing. I have it all planned out—

plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God,

to them who are the called according to his purpose.

II. A PERSON'S FOCUS HAS MUCH TO DO WITH WHAT HE SEES...

Luke 11:34 The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole

body also is full of light; but when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness.

35 Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness.

36 If thy whole body therefore be full of light, having no part dark, the whole shall be full of

light, as when the bright shining of a candle doth give thee light.

A. My neighbor and I was talking and he looked down and saw a four leaf clover,

he bend down and picked the four leaf clover and he pulled out his billfold and

placed his NEW FIND in a pocket with probably 20 other four leaf clovers.

I admired his work? He asked me: How many four leaf clovers do you have?

I said: NONE.

B. You see I have never found one! But I will be honest with you, I have never

looked for four leaf clovers, I probably try to look up more than I look down.

I besides that I SEE NO VALUE IN A FOUR LEAF CLOVER unless you are

a cow?

C. There was a hit song in the 1040's, I have heard my dad sing:

I OVER LOOKED AN ORCHID WHILE SEARCHING FOR A ROSE...

What is the story in the story?

OUT OF THE ABUNDANCE OF THE HEART THE MOUTH SPEAKS---

D. YOU FIND WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING --- YOUR VALUE SYSTEM?

PERHAPS LIFE IS NOT WAITING FOR THE STORMS TO PASS---

MAYBE IT IS MORE ABOUT LEARNING TO SING IN THE RAIN---

MAYBE EVEN FINDING A LOVE TO DANCE IN THE RAIN?

Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness;

and all these things shall be added unto you.

E. LIFE MAY BE ABOUT YOUR FOCUS---

WE TEND TO BLAME OTHERS FOR WHAT HAPPENS INSTEAD OF REALIZING

MY ATTITUDES AND MY DAILY CHOICES HAVE MUCH TO DO WITH WHERE

I FIND MYSELF.

III. EVERY PERSON MUST BRING THEIR HEART TO A POINT TO TRUST OR

NOT TO TRUST ---- NOW, THAT IS THE QUESTION?

Proverbs 3:5-6 (KJV) Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine

own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (MSG) Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don't try to figure out

everything on your own. 6 Listen for God's voice in everything you do, everywhere you go;

he's the one who will keep you on track.

Proverbs 28:26 (KJV) He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely,

he shall be delivered.

Proverbs 28:26 (MSG) If you think you know it all, you're a fool for sure; real

survivors learn wisdom from others.

A. I JUST REFUSE TO TRUST A DOCTOR, HAVEN'T YOU HEARD THE TERROR

STORIES ABOUT DOCTORS?

REUTERS records a REAL STORY from 1994.

There was an 63 year old ACCOUNTANT in London England.

He had a terrible fear of doctors, nurses, needles and hospitals.

He had read tons of materials. He had a friend that was in the hospital that

had to have his leg amputated and the doctors removed the wrong leg.

The same day his wife told the doctors and back into surgery he had his

other leg removed.

B. This man was so worried and afraid. He had a serious BLADDER PROBLEM

THAT REQUIRED MINOR SURGERY. This would require a simple surgery and then

several days in the hospital.

C. The man studied, he read, he made the preparations and DECIDED TO

DO SELF SURGERY... The man's fear was so bad, he could not trust the

hospital and he would save a ton of money.
