WHO IS IN YOUR BOAT?
I love the scripture in Matt. 28:20 ............lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Then also the one in Hebrews 13:5 .....for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. Sometimes we think God may have forgotten about us, however, when the storms of life come He is always there. He never gets out of the boat and leaves us alone. He is there to bring peace and comfort to us. I love that old song that was a theme song for Jack Coe who went home to Jesus back in the mid 1950’s, ’JOB’S GOD IS TRUE’.
Verse One:
I can feel.....the hand of Satan.......
As the temper....press me sore.....
He has been before the Father.......
Asking leave....to tempt me more....
The Chorus:
Though God slay me....yet I’ll trust Him....
I shall then.....come forth as gold.....
And I know...that He still liveth.....
For I feel....Him in my soul.......
Verse Two:
I can hear the Father grant it........
Saying do not touch his life.....
Though you crush him He’ll not falter....
He will rise....above the strife....
Verse Three:
Though I struggle....I’ll not stagger....
By His grace....I’ll make it through....
For His grace....is all sufficient....
And I know....that God is true....
Verse Four:
When I have looked....all around me......
And His face....I cannot see....
Then I know that through the lattice........
He beholdeth even me......
The Chorus:
Though God slay me....yet I’ll trust Him....
I shall then.....come forth as gold.....
And I know...that He still liveth.....
For I feel....Him in my soul.......
Mark 8:13 And he left them, and entering into the ship again departed to the other side.
Mark 8:14 Now the disciples had forgotten to take bread, neither had they in the ship with them more than one loaf.
Mark 8:15 And he charged them, saying, Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and of the leaven of Herod.
Mark 8:16 And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have no bread.
Mark 8:17 And when Jesus knew it, he saith unto them, Why reason ye, because ye have no bread? perceive ye not yet, neither understand? have ye your heart yet hardened?
Mark 8:18 Having eyes, see ye not? and having ears, hear ye not? and do ye not remember?
Mark 8:19 When I brake the five loaves among five thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up? They say unto him, Twelve.
Mark 8:20 And when the seven among four thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up? And they said, Seven.
Mark 8:21 And he said unto them, How is it that ye do not understand?
I. 5 loaves for 5000 people with 12 baskets left over
A. 7 loaves for 4000
B. Less is more when God is in it.
1. It is not what you have but it’s WHOM you have.
2. God is the God who is more than enough.
3. I love the song my wife recorded, ’Little is much when God gets in it.’
II. (Psa 18:1 KJV) To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, the servant of the LORD, who spake unto the LORD the words of this song in the day that the LORD delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul: And he said, I will love thee, O LORD, my strength.
(Psa 18:2 KJV) The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.
A. Look what the Lord is!
1. He is my Rock.
2. He is my Fortress.
3. He is my Deliverer
4. He is my God
5. He is my Strength
a. I trust in Him
6. He is my Buckler (Defender)
7. He is the Horn of my Salvation. ( Horn of oil of supply)
8. He is my High tower. Prov 18:10 The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.
a. TO HAVE Vision you must get up high where you can see the enemy, the harvest and the reinforcements.
(Eph 1:3 KJV) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: (Eph 2:6 KJV) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
1. We are here on this earth but our position and authority is in Christ in heavenly places.
2. It is when we live a life in the Word and Spirit that we become what God wants us to be and do.
