Who Cares If You Go To Hell

Summary: Does anyone really care who dies and goes to hell?
Emphasis on v 27 & 28
Intro: In this passage of scripture we read of a beggar and a rich man. Both die and awake in their eternal destination. The beggar in Abraham’s bosom and the rich man in hell. In verse 24 we find the rich man begging for just a taste of water . In verse 25 we read of how Lazarus the beggar is now comforted but how the rich man is in torments. But I want to look at verses 27-28. Here we discover that the rich man has five other brothers who are lost and he is begging for Father Abraham to send Lazarus to warn them about this awful place of torment. He does not want them to come there. I want to preach on this subject, “WHO CARES IF YOU GO TO HELL”
I. Your FAMILY cares if you go to hell (v 27)
A. Here we see a brother worrying about his five other brothers coming to this place. He wants to warn them
II. PEOPLE in hell care if you go to hell (v 27)
A. The rich man is in hell already
B. There is not one person in hell right now that wants you there
C. If they could send you a warning to stay away they would without hesitation
III. GOD THE FATHER cares if you go to hell
A. (Matt 18:14) Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.
B. (John 3:16) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
IV. JESUS CHRIST cares if you go to hell
A. ( 2 Peter 3:9) The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
B. (Luke 19:10) For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
V. The HOLY GHOST cares if you go to hell
A. (John 16:7) Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
B. In Acts Chapter 1 we find the Lord ascending in a cloud back to glory but in Acts Chapter 2 we find the Holy Ghost, the Comforter making his appearance in cloven tongues of fire and he is still here today.
C. The Holy Ghost visits and untold number of hearts daily trying to persuade them to avoid and awful place called hell
Close: You may be saying to yourself these people could careless if I go to hell. You may even be thinking there is no such place called hell but it will not take you but one second in hell to realize there is such a place. Sinner would you just turn your heart over to God and escape this awful place. It may be that if you go to hell some of your family or even children may go to because they want to be like you. But it very well may be that if you get saved and go the Heaven that they may follow you there.
