Who cares if Billy Goes to Hell (Mark 16:19-31)

Intro: Billy was born in 1972 into a family of drug abusers. His mother died of an overdose when little Billy was three years old, His father was wanted in Tennessee for selling drugs.

Little Billy was slipped into Tennessee to live with relatives. In all reality little Billy spent his life looking for love, He would ask neighbors if He could be their little Boy. It seemed no one had time of wanted Little Billy, There were Christians all around, But nobody wanted to take time for little Billy. Little Billy lived mostly on the streets until he turned Eighteen. He decided life wasn’t worth living and saw no good in anyone. He stuck a pistol in his mouth and pulled the trigger. LITTLE BILLY WENT TO HELL AND NO ONE CARED

Text: (Luke 16:19-31)

19 Jesus said, “There was a rich man who always dressed in the finest clothes and lived in luxury every day. 20 And a very poor man named Lazarus, whose body was covered with sores, was laid at the rich man’s gate. 21 He wanted to eat only the small pieces of food that fell from the rich man’s table. And the dogs would come and lick his sores. 22 Later, Lazarus died, and the angels carried him to the arms of Abraham. The rich man died, too, and was buried. 23 In the place of the dead, he was in much pain. The rich man saw Abraham far away with Lazarus at his side. 24 He called, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me! Send Lazarus to dip his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am suffering in this fire!’ 25 But Abraham said, ‘Child, remember when you were alive you had the good things in life, but bad things happened to Lazarus. Now he is comforted here, and you are suffering. 26 Besides, there is a big pit between you and us, so no one can cross over to you, and no one can leave there and come here.’ 27 The rich man said, ‘Father, then please send Lazarus to my father’s house. 28 I have five brothers, and Lazarus could warn them so that they will not come to this place of pain.’ 29 But Abraham said, ‘They have the law of Moses and the writings of the prophets; let them learn from them.’ 30 The rich man said, ‘No, father Abraham! If someone goes to them from the dead, they would believe and change their hearts and lives.’ 31 But Abraham said to him, ‘If they will not listen to Moses and the prophets, they will not listen to someone who comes back from the dead.’”

There is a Hell, if people go there, Who cares?

1. God cares

a. God sent Jesus

1. Bethlehem’s stable cries God cares (animals)

2. Calvary’s Cross cries God cares

(a) The tree that made the cross was spared

(1) The Seed

(2) The Bird

(3) The Beaver

(4) The Storm

(5) The Fire

(6) The Wood Cutter

2. Jesus cares

a. He came to seek those that were lost

1. Jesus cared for sinners

(1) Was never harsh to the lost only the religious

(2) Was always with sinners

(3) Reached one more while on the cross (Thief)

3. The Holy Spirit cares

a. Came on the day of Pentecost

1. Came to draw the lost

2. Gave believers the power to witness

3. Brings conviction

(a) To the lost

(b) To the Christians

(1) Causes us to reach out to the lost

4. Heaven cares

a. Joy in Heaven over one sinner who repents

b. Every convert brings songs of praise in Heaven.

(1) Because a lost one found God

(2) Because a witness did his job.

5. The Devil cares

a. He got one more soul to suffer

b. He stopped a witness from doing his job

6. Hell cares

a. The cry of the rich man (send Lazarus)

b. Those in hell cares

(1) Don’t want to hear the added screams of newcomer to hell

(2) Don’t want to see the face of the newcomer as pain floods his soul

A/C if a sinner goes to hell do you care?

a. It may be your worst enemy

1. rapist

2. Someone who abused your child

3. Someone who killed your dog

4. Someone who stole from you

5. Someone who lied to you

6. Someone who lied about you

b. Those who care tell others about Jesus

c. Those who care pray for others

d. Those who care live right before sinners

There is a whole world full of little Billy’s, without God they are going to hell.
