A lot of people today do not understand God and who he is. They have a wrong idea or concept of God. They say, “Is there really a God? I can’t see him so how do I know if he is really there?” Let me tell you a little something about God this morning.

The Bible tells us in:

John 4:24

24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

God is a spirit and therefore he is invisible to the eye. You can’t see him but he is still there. You can’t see him but you can sure feel him in this place today.

God is Eternal

God has always been around. God has always existed. Since the beginning of time God has been here and before time began God was. After time stops forever and eternity begins God will still be here.

Isaiah 44:6

6 Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.

God is the first and the last. God is the alpha and the omega. God is the beginning and the ending. God is eternal.

God is Omnipresent

That word means that he is everywhere present at the same time.

Psalm 139:7-13

7 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?

8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.

9 If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;

10 Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.

11 If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.

12 Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.

13 For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb.

God is presently on all points of the globe at the same time. Further then that God fills the entire universe. The scientist released a picture they captured from a telescope that they feel is thousands and thousands of years old. They think if they go back far enough that they can figure out how all this was made. Let me tell you tell you something God was there.

We feel him right now in Waterbury, but he is also in Torrington, Wallingford, Manchester, and Bristol.

We feel him Connecticut but I want you to know that he is moving today all over the United States. He is in Florida, California, Minnesota, and Kentucky.

Not only is he in the United States but he is also in Canada, Guatemala, Ethiopia, Japan, and Russia.

Not only is he in this world but he fills the entire universe, the entire expanse of space, every planet, every moon, every star, every black hole – God fills it. You can go to the moon and God would be there. You can try all of Jupiter’s moons and God would be on every one.

Not only that, but because he is omnipresent he fills all three time relations at the same time. Past, Present, Future

∑ He is presently in the past.

∑ He is presently in the present.

∑ He is presently in the future.

10 min. of/right now/10 min. past

God is presently in the past subduing my past so that the sins that have been covered by his shed blood cannot rise up and harm me.

God is presently in the present and he is protecting me and leading me and guiding me. He is allowing me to lean upon him right now in times of weakness because when I am weak he is strong. Right now he is a very present help in the time of trouble. He will never leave me or forsake me.

God is also presently in the future and he is paving a way for me to walk. He is clearing the obstacles out of the way that would hinder my progress in the Lord. That is why I can say many things about tomorrow I don’t seem to understand, but I know who holds tomorrow and I know who holds my hand.

For this reason I don’t have to fear my past. I am not afraid of the present and I am not concerned about what the future holds for me. Because is omnipresent and he will be with me all the way.

God is Omniscient.

That means he is all knowing. He knows everything there is to know about you. He knows your:
