Where Are We Going?

Summary: Life’s journey.
This set up the next question for the aetheist…
Well, if God is love, why is there evil in the world?
Hank’s guest responded again, as I would have…that people have free will, and free choice, and evil is the absence of God’s love….
People have choices to live within God’s Sovereign plan or to ignore God’s will.
The atheist seemed to be gaining momentum as he fired away his next leading question.
Well, if people are going to sin, and they are going to end up in hell, wouldn’t it be better for them if they were never created I the first place?
Wouldn’t a God of love want all of His creation to be in Heaven with Him?
Sounded like tough questions, but Hank’s guest was prepared to answer…
God’s plan is that we all follow His will for our lives….
But our lives would not be fulfilled if we did not have the freedom to choose and make decisions.
Yes, God wants us all to be in Heaven with Him.
That is God’s plan.
But we as human beings are not forced to follow God’s plan.
It would be better for those who are headed to hell to have never been born.
That is why it is so important to be in a relationship with God, and to be in God’s will.
I must tell you, that as I was listening to the broadcast, I was thinking to myself…
This atheist guy thinks about God and heaven and hell more than some Christians!
It’s hard to believe that if an atheist didn’t believe in God, that he would spend so much time thinking about that which he didn’t believe in in the first place!
The Good News Is…yes there is evil in the world…
yes there are wars…
yes there is famine…
yes there are earthquakes…
yes there are wild fires…
yes there is cancer…
yes there is AIDS…
yes there are diseases
AND YES, THESE ARE BUT THE BEGINNINGS OF THE BIRTHPANGS OF THE NEW CREATION, WHEN ALL WARS WILL CEASE, AND DEATH WILL BE NO MORE.
There will be a new heaven and a new earth for those who love God to dwell in God’s heavenly kingdom.
The question still remains, when will we get there?
But the other question is answered, where are we going?
May God be glorified through the hearing of His Promises.
Amen.
