What Revival Means to Me at Crane Eater Community Church.
1 John 4:9-11NIV
At Crane Eater Community Church our out-cry is for revival. That is, revival within, a revival that permeates through and through.
In other words, it brings a cleansing within, that works its way out.
According to 2 Corinthians 5:17, God makes you a new creation… Old is passed away, all things become new!
Receive that scripture that I just read, it’s a verse for you. God placed your name on it!
You are a new person. In every thing, on every day, by faith you gave your life to Him.
He loves you—He’s in love with you.
Listen to His love for you—1 John 4:9-11NIV This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
Revival is not revival if it does not touch and help heal others—Revival is for the multitudes.
However, before revival can spread, it has to become infectious within our local body.
Yes, revival is for the church!
Revival is a love feast—The love of God can be felt. P.H
Satan has many devices he uses against the church:
Self-Righteousness.
A sense of ownership.
Pride.
Doing our own thing—Becoming passive.
Revival can be taxing—The book of Daniel records that satan desires to wear down the saints.
Again revival is for the church—the Church is Jesus’ body. We are His hands and feet.
What about my marriage and relationships?
God desires our marriages to become deep-wells for all to learn and draw from.
If our marriages are lacking, it will show. We are to cherish one another. Jenny is my best friend!
Revival is a re-veiling of oneself, the ugliness within makes ‘one’ turn to Jesus, the all-time-clean-one.
Hebrews 4:13NIV Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.
The all Holy One. I AM Who I AM.
Revival is renewal, renewed insight, fresh focus, mixed with new vision. A new vision makes the body of Christ excited again. It gives the body focus, and a awareness that what we do, and how we give is very important.
Because CECC has focus and needs, both inside this local body and all the missions we support. We need a nice church sign 20,000 sooner than later, We need another 30,000 for renewal of our properties and buildings.
Revival brings new beginnings. Again, revival produces new attitudes, a change in direction, a new outlook, fresh vision, change, New thought life, and yes, a band new tongue, a tamed tongue.
Please don’t just skip over these verses. Please read them, it’s God’s Word to us.
James 3:1-12NLT Dear brothers and sisters, not many of you should become teachers in the church, for we who teach will be judged more strictly. 2 Indeed, we all make many mistakes. For if we could control our tongues, we would be perfect and could also control ourselves in every other way.
3 We can make a large horse go wherever we want by means of a small bit in its mouth. 4 And a small rudder makes a huge ship turn wherever the pilot chooses to go, even though the winds are strong. 5 In the same way, the tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches. But a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire. 6 And among all the parts of the body, the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself.
7 People can tame all kinds of animals, birds, reptiles, and fish, 8 but no one can tame the tongue. It is restless and evil, full of deadly poison. 9 Sometimes it praises our Lord and Father, and sometimes it curses those who have been made in the image of God. 10 And so blessing and cursing come pouring out of the same mouth. Surely, my brothers and sisters, this is not right! 11 Does a spring of water bubble out with both fresh water and bitter water? 12 Does a fig tree produce olives, or a grapevine produce figs? No, and you can’t draw fresh water from a salty spring.
Prayer—“Father in the name of Jesus we submit our tongues unto you O God.”
Revival means—The things that once made you cuss, now make you praise the Lord! To have revival, is to receive a soaking, we have to repent.
