WHAT JUDAS MISSED-II—John 13:18--17:26

OR--‘WHILE YOU WERE OUT/GONE’

Attention:

Don’t Miss Out—

The man whispered, "God, speak to me,”...

And a meadowlark sang. But, the man did not hear.

So the man said, "God, speak to me,”...

And the lightning flashed & the thunder rolled across the sky. But, the man did not listen.

The man looked around & said, "God let me see you,”...

And a star shined brightly. But, the man did not notice.

Then the exasperated man shouted, "God show me a miracle!”...

And a life was born. But, the man did not know.

So, the man cried out in despair, "Touch me God, & let me know you are here,”...

Whereupon God reached down & touched the man. But, the man brushed the butterfly away & walked on.

*Don’t miss out on a blessing because it isn't packaged the way you may expect.

Shortly after Jesus Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem as Her promised Messianic King(FYI—when the pressure was on, this same crowd & others yelled, “Crucify Him! Crucify Him!”)

& During the Passover supper, Jesus’ provided an example of Christian humility for His disciples(including Judas Iscariot) by washing their feet as would a servant...

*Judas missed the entirety of Jesus’ teaching which took place from the time of his prematurely leaving the Lord’s supper(13:30) until he arrived in the Garden of Gethsemane, with the detachment of soldiers, chief priests & Pharisees to arrest Jesus!(18:3; Mat. 27:27)—[Roman cohort(speira—the tenth part of a legion=600 soldiers)]

28 But no one at he table knew for what reason He said this to him. 29 For some thought, because Judas had the money box, that Jesus had said to him, “Buy those things we need for the feast,” or that he should give something to the poor.

The mention of “the feast” here is probably in reference to ‘the Feast of Unleavened Bread’(&/or ‘the Feast of Firstfruits’(1 day--the 2nd day of Unleavened Bread)), which begins immediately following the Passover(1 day--14 Nisan). The Passover initiates the 7-day Feast of Unleavened Bread.

13:30 Having received the piece of bread, he then went out immediately. And it was night.

“Having received the piece of bread”

And you shall take a bunch of hyssop, dip it in the blood that is in the basin, & strike the lintel & the two doorposts with the blood that is in the basin. And none of you shall go out of the door of his house until morning. “For the LORD will pass through to strike the Egyptians; & when He sees the blood on the lintel & on the two doorposts, the LORD will pass over the door & not allow the destroyer to come into your houses to strike you.”
