OR--‘WHILE YOU WERE OUT’

*THIS IS A BARE-BONES SERMON OUTLINE THAT WAS FLESHED OUT IN THE PULPIT*

& During the Passover supper, Jesus’ provided an example of Christian humility for His disciples(including Judas Iscariot) by washing their feet as would a servant...

*Judas missed the entirety of Jesus’ teaching which took place from the time of his prematurely leaving the Lord’s supper(13:30) until he arrived in the Garden of Gethsemane, with the detachment of soldiers, chief priests & Pharisees to arrest Jesus!(18:3; Mat. 27:27)—[Roman cohort(speira—the tenth part of a legion=600 soldiers)]

Mat. 13:24-30—“Another parable He put forth to them, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field; but while men slept, his enemy came & sowed tares among the wheat & went his way. But when the grain had sprouted & produced a crop, then the tares also appeared. So the servants of the owner came & said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’ “He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him, ‘Do you want us then to go & gather them up?’ “But he said, ‘No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest, & at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares & bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.”’”

1Jn. 2:15-21—“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world--the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, & the pride of life--is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, & the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever. Little children, it is the last hour; & as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour. They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us. But you have an anointing from the Holy One, & you know all things. I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, & that no lie is of the truth.”

Jn. 16:2—“They will put you out of the synagogues; yes, the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers God service.”

Lk. 17:1-2—Then He said to the disciples, “It is impossible that no offenses should come, but woe to him through whom they do come! “It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, & he were thrown into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.”
