Summary: Many say they think they are saved; but what does the Bible say?
What Is Your Score?
1 John 5:13
1 John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
As I came to this verse in 1 John I asked myself what things were written?
Well since I had just finished reading 1 John chapter 2 I found what was written.
[I made this a tract to hand out and asked everyone to take a quiz before I preach. They Are not trick questions, but it will make one think about where they base their salvation on.]
I would like to ask you to take a short quiz.
The score will help answer a question so many ask. Please answer honestly:
1. Do you believe the Bible is the Word of God and should be followed?

Let’s Score Place score here:

2 Yes = 50%
3 Yes = 75%
4 Yes = 100%
Now let me ask the question:
If you were to die today; are you 100% sure you are going to heaven?
The answer is in the box.
You may want to know why I ask such questions; so let’s look in the Bible.
We see that the Bible gives us all we need to find the answer to these questions so we can know whether or not Heaven is your home.
1 John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
We do not work for salvation but we do work because of this great salvation that is given us.
[Questions came from these verses and they will preach]
1. What commandments are you to keep?
1 John 2:3 “And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.”
Matthew 22:37-40 “Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”
2. Many say they are saved and yet do not live by this simple verse:
1 John 2:11 “But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.”
3. You can love the Lord or you can love the world but you cannot love them both:
1 John 2:15 “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.”
4. You cannot say you are saved and not desire to know more about the Saviour.
1 John 2:19 “They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.”
Friend this is the time to be very honest and decide if you need the free gift that only Jesus can give?
First: All Are Sinners
Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God”
Second: You Cannot Save Yourself
Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Third: Even Though You Deserve Hell, Jesus Paid Your Debt
Romans 5:8 “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
Forth: You Must Ask For The Free Gift Jesus Offers
Romans 10:13 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
If you are willing to ask; Jesus Christ promises to hear your prayer:
[Add or change this to make it your sermon]
I made this into a tract and you may want to also, help yourself. To God be the Glory.
