WHAT IS A REVIVAL?

A VISITATION OF GOD ON HIS PEOPLE - Luke 7:16 - Fear gripped them all, and they began glorifying God, saying, God has visited His people. 1 Peter 2:12 - A time of visitation.

A REFRESHING - Acts 3:19 - Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.

Psalm 92:10 - Fresh Oil - We need a fresh anointing of the Holy Ghost.

A RENEWING - 2 Cor. 4:16 - Though our outward man is dying, our inward man is renewed day by day. Lam. 3:23 - Mercies are new every morning.

A RESTORING - Psalm 51:12 - Restore unto me the joy of your salvation.

Psalm 85:6 - Will you revive your people again that they may rejoice in you?

Joel 2:25 - Restore what the devil has taken.

PrOVERBS 6:31 - The devil has to restore sevenfold what he has taken

AN AWAKING OF GOD’S PEOPLE - Romans 13:11 - And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.

Hosea 10:12 - Break up the fallow ground: For It is time to seek the Lord.

2 Timothy 1:6 - You Stir Up the gift of God, which is in you.

It’s time to Wake up, Break up, and get Stirred up for Jesus. It’s time to seek the Lord!

It’s time for the Sleeping to wake up, Lukewarm to fire up, Disgruntled to sweeten up, Discouraged to cheer up, Dishonest to confess up, Depressed to look up, Gossipers to shut up, Robbers to pay up, Offended to make up, Soldiers to stand up!

A revival is not something worked up it is something sent down.

A revival is an outpouring of God on us through the power of the Holy Spirit.

We can’t organize it, but we can agonize for it in prayer and call upon God to send it.

2 Chronicles 7:14 - If my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways;

then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

GOD’ DESIGN - IF MY PEOPLE… Not just any people but God’s people. Not random occupiers of space and time but God’s people. Not people who are politically correct but God’s people. People created in the image of God. People born for a Godly purpose.

We are not just some other family we are God’s family. God’s people. The people that were delivered from Egyptian slavery. The people that walked through the Red Sea. The people that survived the desert for forty years. The people that brought down the walls of Jericho with a shout. My people. People who defeated giants, slept in lion’s dens, survived fiery furnace, floods and droughts. My people. Not just any people but God’s people.

When Jesus died on the cross and was resurrected. The Church was added to the my people list. God’s people. People who overcame the colosseums and the lions. People who are the light of the world and the salt of the earth. People of the Word. People who are prophetic and not pathetic. People who are disciples, witnesses and Christ followers. People that are apostles, prophets, pastors, evangelist and teachers. God’s people. I want you to hear me we are not members of a social club. We are God’s people. People that have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus. People that are product of the Upper Room. People that are Filled with the power of the Holy Ghost. People that are free, forgiven and favored. God’s chosen people. God’s people. I’m here to tell you we are not just any people.

We are God’s people. Your family. Your children. Your children’s children. Are God’s people. We are the people of God. We are the children of God.

IF MY PEOPLE … WHO ARE CALLED BY MY NAME

We are called by God. We are chosen by God. Predestined by God. Selected by God. Ordained by God. Saved by God and for God. If my people who are called by my name. Not just any name but by His name. And let me remind you in a society where name brands are important and even hashtags. Not just a phone but I-phone. Not just a computer a mac. Not just a car, a Ferrari, Lamborghini. Tennis shoes - Air Jordan.

Pocketbook - Gucci. Lulu Lemon - Calvin Cline clothes. These are great names but none of these names can help us. There is only one name that has power and authority over this corona virus, this disease, this pandemic. There is only one name that can defeat panic, fear and anxiety. It is the name above every other name. It is the name to whom every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that He is Lord. It is the name who is a strong tower and the righteous run into it and there they are safe. It is the only name given unto man whereby we must be saved. It is the name that sets the captive free. It is the name in which the lost are found. It is the name that turns the broken into blessed. It is the name of JESUS. It is a name that needs to be proclaimed all over the world. Let that name be the trending name. Let that name be the hashtag. In the midst of this pandemic let everyone acknowledge that name. The only name that can save our nation and heal our land. The name that can stop corona virus right now in its tracks. Proclaim that name. Confess that name. Come to the reality that salvation will not come through any other name except through the name of Jesus. Shout out His name. JESUS! Declare His name. JESUS!
