What If We Praise Him?
Contributed by Howard Strickland on Jun 10, 2020 (message contributor)
Summary: Beginning Monday, I set my alarm for 230PM to go off 7 days a week; I have the same praise song set for my alarm. When this alarm goes off it say’s on my phone screen—Psalm 67:1-7...
Last of all, praising of God.
We cannot see His countenance except He be merciful to us; and we cannot praise Him except His way be known upon earth. His mercy breeds knowledge; His knowledge, praise. (BibleStudyTools.com)
Can you see through your minds-eye nations bursting forth in praise? Why not?
Key Point—“We have to gain perception that this glorious gospel is for all mankind!” P.H
Psalm 67:4TPT Then how glad the nations will be when you are their King. They will sing, they will shout, for you give true justice to the people. Yes! You, Lord, are the shepherd of the nations! Pause in his presence
Notice this progression from verse 1 through verse 4:
Be merciful.
Bless us.
* Cause your face to shine upon us.
* I’ll let your way be known.
* Your salvation.
* Let the people praise you.
* Let the people be glad and sing.
Vs. 4, God shall judge and govern.
James 4:12ESV There is only one lawgiver and judge, he who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge your neighbor?
Again Psalm 67:4TLB How glad the nations will be, singing for joy because you are their King and will give true justice to their people!
Some sing for form, others for show, some as a duty, others as an amusement, but to sing from the heart, because overflowing joy must find a vent, this is to sing indeed!
Whole nations will sing as Jesus reigns over them in the power of His grace.
This thought came to me—We have heard hundreds and even thousands sing in chorus, but what will it be to hear whole nations lifting up their voices, as the noise of many waters and like great thunders?!
The question asked is—When shall the age of song begin? When shall groans and murmurs be exchanged for holy hymns and joyful melodies? https://www.biblestudytools.com/commentaries/treasury-of-david/psalms-67-4.html
During the Millennium, Jesus Christ will rule as King of Kings and reign as Lord of Lords, and every knee shall bend and every tongue shall speak in worship before Him.
Revelation 20:1-6NLT Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven with the key to the bottomless pit and a heavy chain in his hand. 2 He seized the dragon—that old serpent, who is the devil, Satan—and bound him in chains for a thousand years. 3 The angel threw him into the bottomless pit, which he then shut and locked so Satan could not deceive the nations anymore until the thousand years were finished. Afterward he must be released for a little while.
4 Then I saw thrones, and the people sitting on them had been given the authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their testimony about Jesus and for proclaiming the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or his statue, nor accepted his mark on their foreheads or their hands. They all came to life again, and they reigned with Christ for a thousand years.
5 This is the first resurrection. (The rest of the dead did not come back to life until the thousand years had ended.) 6 Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. For them the second death holds no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him a thousand years.
