What If We Praise Him?

Psalm 67:1-7NKJV

Charles Spurgeon writes, No author's name is given, but he would be a bold man who should attempt to prove that David did not write it.

Psalm 67:1-7NKJV God be merciful to us and bless us, And cause His face to shine upon us, Selah 2 That Your way may be known on earth, Your salvation among all nations. 3 Let the peoples praise You, O God; Let all the peoples praise You. 4  Oh, let the nations be glad and sing for joy! For You shall judge the people righteously, And govern the nations on earth. Selah 5 Let the peoples praise You, O God; Let all the peoples praise You. 6 Then the earth shall yield her increase; God, our own God, shall bless us. 7 God shall bless us, And all the ends of the earth shall fear Him.

Beginning Monday, I set my alarm for 230PM to go off 7 days a week; I have the same praise song set for my alarm. When this alarm goes off it say’s on my phone screen—Psalm 67:1-7, it gives me great direction to praise my Lord and Savior. It also props me to thank Him for my wife and children, and my church family.

I lift up global missions, also I remember those persecuted for their faith in God.

I pray for our hospitals, government and the body of Christ as a whole.

Right now, I’m putting to memory, Psalms 67. Daily God is showing me different aspects of this short chapter.

Personal testimony: I’ve quickly learned to enjoy this time, and sometimes, not knowing where I will be when my alarm goes off, it becomes a Conversation piece. I don’t know where this ‘time’ will lead me, but one thing for sure—It will be good!

The first verse, sounds a lot like a benediction. “The longer I live the more I think our lives should be one big benediction.” P.H

Psalm 67:1AMP God be gracious and kind-hearted to us and bless us, And make His face shine [with favor] on us— Selah.

The image is as a beautiful wave of worship rolling to the ends of the Earth resounds in the words of Psalm 67.

Psalm 67:1, reminds me of one of the greatest blessings spoken over God’s faithful people—The Aaronic blessing.

Numbers 6:22-27AMP Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 23 “Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying, ‘This is the way you shall bless the Israelites. Say to them: 24 The Lord bless you, and keep you [protect you, sustain you, and guard you]; 25 The Lord make His face shine upon you [with favor], And be gracious to you [surrounding you with lovingkindness]; 26 The Lord lift up His countenance (face) upon you [with divine approval], And give you peace [a tranquil heart and life].’ 27 So Aaron and his sons shall put My name upon the children of Israel, and I will bless them.”

The thought came to me, “I wonder what might occur if we all set our alarms to praise and pray daily? Beginning with Psalm 67.

Again, God told Moses to tell Aaron and His sons—“Say to the children of Israel—The Lord bless you and keep you, may His face shine upon you and give you favor!”

David said in, Psalm 55:17NKJV Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and He shall hear my voice.

In Psalm 67:1-2, The psalmist pleads for God’s grace. Through our New Covenant, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ was release, by Him becoming our perfect sacrificial Lamb. P.H

Say Grace. 2 Corinthians 8:9AMP For you are recognizing [more clearly] the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [His astonishing kindness, His generosity, His gracious favor], that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, so that by His poverty you might become rich (abundantly blessed).

Psalm 67:2TPT Send us out all over the world so that everyone everywhere will discover your ways and know who you are and see your power to save.

Again, Send them out so the whole world we—

Discover your ways.

Know who you are.

See your power to save.

The psalmist sings, “Lord as our faces beam with your mercy, may others see your salvation!”

Psalm 67:2TM The whole country will see how you work, all the godless nations see how you save.

This Psalm, or in this case—Song, was sung and believed as the people of God went out and covered the face of the earth.

Psalm 67:3TPT Let all the nations burst forth with praise; let everyone everywhere love and enjoy you!

David writes and sings, Let all the nations find out how great you are, love you, and praise you!

Mark the sweet order of the blessed Spirit:

First, mercy.

Then knowledge.
