WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU BELIEVE IN THE LORD JESUS?
Pastor Joel Bernardino – October 16, 2025
Believing in Jesus means you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that He rose again from the dead.
The true gospel of Jesus Christ is not based on our good works as a condition for salvation.
The apostle Paul makes it very clear — the basis of salvation is confessing that Jesus is Lord and believing that God raised Him from the dead.
• There are no other requirements for salvation.
• We cannot be made righteous by simply being kind or doing good things.
• Forgiveness doesn’t come from our efforts or performance.
• It comes only when we accept God’s free gift of eternal life through the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Take note:
When salvation truly happens in a person’s life, change will follow.
From being a sinner, we begin to live in obedience to God.
It’s not that we become perfect instantly, but our hearts are transformed — we now desire to follow and please Him.
WHEN YOU BELIEVE, SOMETHING WONDERFUL HAPPENS!
1. GOD FORGIVES ALL YOUR SINS
Romans 10:10
“For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.”
When you believe, God completely wipes away your sins.
Your past is forgiven, your guilt is removed, and you are made right with God.
No more condemnation — only grace and mercy.
2. YOU ARE SAVED FROM ETERNAL DEATH
Romans 10:9
“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”
Salvation is found in Christ alone — not in religion, not in good deeds, not in anyone else.
Only Jesus can save us from eternal death and bring us into eternal life with Him.
