Summary: What God has done for us and how we understand it. Then what do we do after we received Gods precious gift?

Our text today offers us an opportunity to explore what we, as God’s children, have done with his words and how we understand them. The "What for?" question. That is to see what is expected of us after we know Him as Savior.

We can start out with a wonderful based Scripture presentation of His word.

Even before the world was made God chose us in Christ to be holy and without sin. Through Jesus we became a part of Gods family.

There are many theories about when we think God picked his adopted family.

There are only two theological theories that all of these differences come. (Calvinism) (John Calvin) believed that God looked out and picked certain person before any creation and picked certain ones to be saved (predestination). Once picked by God you will be saved and sealed forever. The seal is an unbreakable bond.

(Arminianism) Jacob Arminius was firmly against Calvinism. Faith, he believed, was the cause of election; saved because we believe in Jesus Christ as our Savior because of what He did for us. God looked out of heaven and saw who was going to accept His Son as Savior and then God said let it be so. (Romans 8:29) This seal (KJV) isn’t an unbreakable one but just like in older times envelopes were sealed with wax and crescent was pushed into it. This would show who it was from and the authority behind it. So the envelope can be opened. I and my denomination doctrine is this.

The seal is the Holy Spirit promise from God to protect us and give us His Love always.

These two things have been discussed and argued over by many good Christians on both sides. I would not disparage anyone's belief. But to me the question is what do we do after this wonderful salvation is given to us?

The only real truth that major denominations believes is that God sent His Son to earth to die on the cross. This was because nobody else was good enough sacrifice for our sins. He was sinless nobody else has ever been. He freely gave us His life. When we believe we have the promise of the Holy Spirit that is with us to proclaim we are known by God.

So after we know God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit (these three are one) I again ask what is expected of us? Here are a couple things for you to chew on this week:

Ephesians 4:29-32 NLT

29 Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.

30 And do not bring sorrow to God’s Holy Spirit by the way you live. Remember, he has identified you as his own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption.

31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. 32 Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.

Romans 12:2 NLT

2 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

Micah 6:8 NLT

8 No, O people, the Lord has told you what is good,  and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
