WHAT DO YOU KNOW?

Years ago my dad did a painting. There was a mule. The mule was attached to a plow…. The mule was standing in a field. A little of the field was plowed, most was still green grass….The mule just stood there? I asked Dad, what does this mean….it said it is AN UNFINISHED WORK, everything was waiting…no workers? Perhaps the man plowing was dead, and…FOR WHAT EVER REASON THE WORK WAS UNFINISHED…. He said it was a sad picture. Dad said the picture was about John Evans, a preacher that had mowed his grass, had a heart attack and died before his time.

HAVE WE LEARNED TO TELL TIME.

Ecclesiastes 3:1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: 2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; 3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; 4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; 5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; 6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

THREE THINGS WE NEED TO KNOW?

I HAVE HEARD IT SAID THERE ARE THREE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW: 1. April 15 each year our federal taxes are due. 2. I need to know there is an appointed time and we will go as all people go: TO DEATH. 3. I need to know after death we will face the BEAMA SEAT OF JUDGMENT.

Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

*KNOW: to have in your mind, to learn, to understand, to be absolutely certain of something, information, to be aware, facts, to acquire by experience or education, awareness, to be able to recall.

I WAS STARTING TEACHING A LESSON AND I ASK: WHAT’S THE FIRST THING YOU KNOW.

The answer amazed me. A MAN IN THE CROWD SAID: First thing you know: Ol’ Jed’s a millionaire, kin folks say: Jed move away from there… said California is the place you ought to be … so they loaded up the truck and moved to Beverly, hills that is, swimming pools, movie stars ….

BY FAITH STAND STILL: WE ARE IN A WAR. GOD HAS YOUR BACK AND YOUR HEART. THE LORD WILL FIGHT FOR YOU!

Exodus 14:13 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.

Exodus 14:13 (NIV) Moses answered the people, "Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again.

Exodus 15:3 The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name.

WE SHOULD KNOW YOU DON’T LOVE GOD IF YOU DO NOT LOVE PEOPLE.

John 13:35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

1 John 3:15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.

1 John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. 8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

WE MUST KNOW GOD’S 10 COMMANDMENTS ARE MORE THAN OPTIONAL SUGGESTIONS.

John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

1 John 2:3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.

1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

WE SHOULD KNOW TO HAVE ABSOLUTE TRUST IN GOD’S PLAN. THE ONLY EFFECT BULLET THAT CAN HURT YOU IS THE ONE YOU GIVE THE ENEMY. WE SHOULD KNOW NO WEAPON CAN PROSPER.

Isaiah 54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.

WE SHOULD KNOW THAT YOU CAN NOT COVER UP SIN. DO WE KNOW SIN HAS CONSEQUENCES?

Numbers 32:23 But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the LORD: and be sure your sin will find you out. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
