“If I find in myself a desire that no experience on this earth can satisfy, the most logical explanation is that I was made for another world.”

- C. S. Lewis

Reminder: Satan lies about heaven.

Revelation 13:6 [The Beast] opened his mouth to blaspheme God, and to slander his name and his dwelling place and those who live in heaven.

Satan has always been in the business of slandering God’s Person, God’s Place, and God’s People.

 Jesus is there, and we can be with Him.

Philippians 1:23 I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far.

2 Corinthians 5:8 We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.

 It is a real, physical place.

Rev 7:9 After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.

Rev 8:6 Then the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared to sound them.

Rev 8:13 As I watched, I heard an eagle that was flying in midair call out in a loud voice…

Hebrews 8:5 They serve at a sanctuary that is a copy and shadow of what is in heaven. This is why Moses was warned when he was about to build the tabernacle: "See to it that you make everything according to the pattern shown you on the mountain."

Revelation 2:7 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.

What are people like in the present heaven?

Revelation 6:9 When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained.

10 They called out in a loud voice, "How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?"

11 Then each of them was given a white robe, and they were told to wait a little longer, until the number of their fellow servants and brothers who were to be killed as they had been was completed.

 They are conscious, emotional, and rational.

 They have audience with God, and ask Him for things.

 They remember life on earth.

 They may have physical form.

 They are resting from their labors.

Revelation 19:1 After this I heard what sounded like the roar of a great multitude in heaven shouting: "Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God,

2 for true and just are his judgments. He has condemned the great prostitute who corrupted the earth by her adulteries. He has avenged on her the blood of his servants."

3 And again they shouted: "Hallelujah! The smoke from her goes up for ever and ever."

 They are aware of events on earth.

 They are engaged in praising the Lord.

Luke 15:10 In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents."
