Summary: We need spiritual rain just like we need physical rain!

Deuteronomy 11:14-17

Today my prayer is, “Lord, we need rain!”

We need the Shower of the Holy Spirit in our lives like never before.

During a good rain, vegetation is nourished -- animals are nourished -- the grass gets greener; rain refreshes the land.

Rain causes things to grow and be fruitful. We as well need to be spiritually nourished and refreshed through the word of god and through the Holy Spirit..

I know a lot of people who are in a drought!

There comes a time in every person’s life they experience a drought of some type!

It may be the drought of health-when it seems like there is no end in sight to your physical problems

It may be the drought of finances-when it seems like the bills are coming in faster than the money to pay them.

It may be the drought of your occupation-because you have lost the enjoyment of doing what you do for a living

There may be a drought in your marriage-because you are staying together not because you love each other but just for the sake of the children or because you don’t a divorce.

But of all the droughts I can think of, the worst is a Spiritual Drought.

I believe we have a thought not only in this county, but in this state, and in this country!

I believe there are people who pray but they don’t feel like the prayers leave the roof of your house.

They read their Bible but it is Greek to them, they don’t understand it!

They go to church and get absolute nothing out of it, so they don’t go!

I’m not talking about non-believers, I’m talking about believers!

They are in a Spiritual Drought!

I read that there are millions of church members in America and yet, we are not making the Moral and Spiritual impact in the world that we should?

I believe that is why we are experiencing the dryness we are having because to many people are putting other things before God!

We need to pray for our church members, our neighbors, our county, our state, and our country!

Verse 13-17-Who is God talking to? His people

That is how important you are! What happens in this old world is based upon your relationship to God!

A lot of people are praying for rain and praying to God for rain is important but more important is how is the relationship between the one asking and the One being asked!

God is clear about that He will not send the blessings, if His people continue in sin! There is always a spiritual drought before there is a physical drought!

WHEN IT DOES RAIN!

Old saying: Some People Feel the Rain While Others Just Get Wet.

God has done so much for this country and I believe there are a lot of people who have turned their back on God!

They have just gotten wet, they haven’t felt the rain!

Lets make sure that we have felt the rain, that we are thankful for what God has done for us!

We need to focus on ourselves and make sure that we are right with the Lord!

Make sure that we don’t have a drought in our spiritual life, because that effects every other aspect of our life!
