I. EXORDIUM:

Do you have the keys? Do you use them?

II. AUDIENCE PROFILE:

Believers

III. OBJECTIVES:

To show our power and authority coming from the LORD and how to use them.

IV. TEXT:

Isaiah 22:22 (Amplified Bible)

And the key of the house of David I will lay upon his shoulder; he shall open and no one shall shut, he shall shut and no one shall open.

Parallel verse:

Matthew 18:18 (Amplified Bible)

Truly I tell you, whatever you forbid and declare to be improper and unlawful on earth must be what is already forbidden in heaven, and whatever you permit and declare proper and lawful on earth must be what is already permitted in heaven.

V. THESIS:

We have both power and authority coming from our LORD JESUS CHRIST.

VI. TITLE:

We have the keys

VII. EXPLICATION:

A. Author: Isaiah, the prophet, son of Amoz

B. Date written: anywhere from 681 to 740 B.C., uncertain

C. Purpose: To reveal salvation is both physical and spiritual coming from the LORD

D. To whom written: Nation of Judah

E. Keyword: Salvation. Isaiah means "Salvation of Jehovah"

VIII. MAIN BODY:

"I will lay upon his shoulder;"

It's a huge key, one that can fit a shoulder. It symbolizes power and authority from GOD. It's the same power and authority that GOD has, He delegated it to us. The LORD JESUS CHRIST is the Son of David in the flesh, and we are sons of GOD, therefore we have these power and authority.

Job 12:14 (Amplified Bible)

Behold, He tears down, and it cannot be built again; He shuts a man in, and none can open.

Matthew 18:16-20 (Amplified Bible)

But if he does not listen, take along with you one or two others, so that every word may be confirmed and upheld by the testimony of two or three witnesses.

If he pays no attention to them [refusing to listen and obey], tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a pagan and a tax collector.

Truly I tell you, whatever you forbid and declare to be improper and unlawful on earth must be what is already forbidden in heaven, and whatever you permit and declare proper and lawful on earth must be what is already permitted in heaven.

Again I tell you, if two of you on earth agree (harmonize together, make a symphony together) about whatever [anything and everything] they may ask, it will come to pass and be done for them by My Father in heaven.

For wherever two or three are gathered (drawn together as My followers) in (into) My name, there I AM in the midst of them.

At that last verse in verse 20, it says finally who is the Source of the Authority and Power in us, that is the LORD JESUS CHRIST. We can do these because the LORD JESUS CHRIST is in our midst.

The keys can be used thru our declaration, thru our words, using our mouth.

Proverbs 18:21 (Amplified Bible)

Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it [for death or life].

Revelation 1:18 (Amplified Bible)

And the Ever-living One [I am living in the eternity of the eternities]. I died, but see, I am alive forevermore; and I possess the keys of death and Hades (the realm of the dead).

Revelation 3:7 (Amplified Bible)

And to the angel (messenger) of the assembly (church) in Philadelphia write: These are the words of the Holy One, the True One, He Who has the key of David, Who opens and no one shall shut, Who shuts and no one shall open:

A. What we open, no one can shut

"he shall open and no one shall shut,"

Open means:

a. loosen

b. begin

c. plough

d. carve

e. ungird

f. unstop

"and whatever you permit and declare proper and lawful on earth must be what is already permitted in heaven."

If we allow sickness then it shall come, but we can open our opportunities to good spirits. Why allow a negative spirit that steals, kills and destroys.

John 10:10 (Amplified Bible)

The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).

Allow or open up to JESUS CHRIST, the One that can give us life and made sure that we can enjoy life with HIM in abundance.

Matthew 16:19 (Amplified Bible)

I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind (declare to be improper and unlawful) on earth must be what is already bound in heaven; and whatever you loose (declare lawful) on earth must be what is already loosed in heaven.
