This passage of scripture teaches us 5 lessons about the Lord Jesus Christ.

I. HE IS A COMFORTING LORD. V.27

A. They were afraid.

B. His words comforted them.

C. Psalms 23:4 “ Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil for You are with me. Your rod & your staff, they comfort me.”

II. HE IS A CALLING LORD. V.28-29

A. Calls us into salvation.

B. Fellowship

1. With Him.

2. With others

C. His ministry

D. Jesus said come. The invitation was not for Peter only.

III. HE IS A SUSTAINING LORD. V.29b-30

A. Sustains- means to provide for

B. Psalms 55:22 “ cast your burden on the Lord &He will sustain you.”

C. As long Peter’s focus was on Christ he was allowed to walk on the water.

IV. HE IS A SAVING LORD. V.30-31

A. Matthew 18:11 “ For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost.”

B. We must cry out

C. We are never out of His reach.

V. HE IS A WORSHIPPED LORD. V.33

A. Jesus alone is worthy of our worship.

B. When we come to a point in our life of who He is and who we are, our response other than repentance will be to worship Him
