Summary: I encourage you to examine your spiritual vision. Are your eyes open to God's vision for your life? Are you following Him down the road of discipleship? May we all open our eyes to see the wonderful truths God has prepared for us.

"Visionary View: You Can't See Through Closed Eyes"

Today, we delve into a thought-provoking topic: "Visionary View: You Can't See Through Closed Eyes." It's a simple yet profound truth - if we want to see God's vision for our lives, we must open our eyes, both spiritually and metaphorically. Let's explore this together through the lens of Scripture.

I. The Consequence of Closed Eyes:

First, let's acknowledge the consequences of keeping our eyes closed, both spiritually and in our everyday lives.

Proverbs 4:19 (NLT):

"But the way of the wicked is like total darkness. They have no idea what they are stumbling over."

When our eyes are closed, we stumble in the darkness of ignorance and spiritual blindness. Our lives lack direction, and we often make poor choices. It's like trying to navigate a room with no light.

II. The Call to Open Our Eyes:

God calls us to open our eyes, to seek His light and guidance.

Psalm 119:18 (NLT):

"Open my eyes to see the wonderful truths in your instructions."

When we open our eyes to God's Word, we discover the wonderful truths He has prepared for us. These truths illuminate our path and reveal His divine plan.

III. The Story of Blind Bartimaeus:

Let me share an illustration from the Gospels. In Mark 10:46-52, we encounter Blind Bartimaeus, a beggar sitting by the roadside. When he hears that Jesus is passing by, he cries out, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!" (Mark 10:47, NLT).

The crowd scolds him, telling him to be quiet, but Bartimaeus cries out even louder. Then Jesus stops and says, "Tell him to come here" (Mark 10:49, NLT). Bartimaeus throws aside his beggar's cloak, jumps up, and goes to Jesus.

Mark 10:51-52 (NLT):

"Jesus asked, 'What do you want me to do for you?' 'My Rabbi,' the blind man said, 'I want to see!' And Jesus said to him, 'Go, for your faith has healed you.' Instantly the man could see, and he followed Jesus down the road."

Bartimaeus, by opening his eyes of faith, received physical and spiritual sight. He not only saw with his eyes but also followed Jesus down the road. His life was transformed by this encounter.

IV. The Application of Opened Eyes:

Now, let's apply this to our lives.

Open Your Spiritual Eyes: Just as Bartimaeus cried out to Jesus, we must cry out to Him in prayer. Open your spiritual eyes by seeking Him diligently.

God's Word: Dive into God's Word. It's a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Psalm 119:105). When we open the Bible, we open our eyes to divine guidance.

Seek God's Vision: Ask God to reveal His vision for your life. What is His plan and purpose for you?

Act in Faith: Like Bartimaeus, take bold steps in faith. Trust that God will guide and lead you when you step out in obedience.

Follow Jesus: Just as Bartimaeus followed Jesus down the road, we must commit to a life of discipleship. Following Jesus isn't a one-time decision; it's a lifelong journey.

V. Closing Encouragement:

In closing, remember this truth: "You can't see through closed eyes." If you want to discover God's vision for your life, open your eyes to Him. Open your eyes to His Word, His guidance, and His call. Don't stumble in the darkness of ignorance; walk in the light of His truth.

As you leave here today, I encourage you to examine your spiritual vision. Are your eyes open to God's vision for your life? Are you following Him down the road of discipleship? May we all open our eyes to see the wonderful truths God has prepared for us.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your Word that opens our eyes to Your truth. Help us to have open eyes, both spiritually and in our daily lives. Guide us in Your ways and reveal Your vision for us. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

May God bless you as you open your eyes to His visionary view and follow Him wholeheartedly.
