Focus Passage: Numbers 13:1-3, 17-20, 25-33

Introduction: Share your vision for the church.

I. The Verge of Promise

a. They were standing on the doorstep of the Promised Land

b. God told Moses to send in some spies to find out what it was like

c. God had brought them out of slavery in Egypt and through the Red Sea

II. The Vision of Promise

a. The 12 spies went in and found a land flowing with milk and honey

b. Caleb reminded the people that God had promised them the land

III. The Vaporization of Promise

a. 10 of the spies gave their opinion instead of just giving their report

b. There were “giants” in the land

c. The cities were fortified

d. The 10 persuaded the entire nation to disobey God

Invitation: Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6 NASB)
