Unmarried Daughters Of Philip

In the midst of Prophets…..

Acts 21:9”Now this man had four virgin daughters who were prophetesses.”

God prepares you ahead for the mission that He has for you! Listen! He would not just push you as an amateur on a colossal platform, He takes you stage by stage and finally qualifies you, molds you, anoints you for His purpose. The equipping process can be painful though, like in the case of Joseph.

Paul knew in his spirit what would happen in Jerusalem; however, his faith did not deter one bit, but he was preparing himself for the ordeal, read:

• Acts 20: 22 "And now, behold, bound by the Spirit, I am on my way to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there,

• 23 except that the Holy Spirit solemnly testifies to me in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions await me.

• 24 "But I do not consider my life of any account as dear to myself, so that I may finish my course and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify solemnly of the gospel of the grace of God.

Please understand, we got to be encircled and fenced with good believers, anointed people and God lovers before we confront the devil. You cannot dance in the cinema theatre, browse facebook all night, chat on whatsup, skip church and expect God to give you the ammunition to attack the enemy, strength comes from HIM! Hurray! I love this portion of the Bible where Apostle Paul during his journey halts at the house of Philip the Evangelist who has three our virgin daughters who were prophetesses. Paul stays in the house of an anointed man like Philip, we read about him in Acts chapter 8 where he brings great revival in the city of Samaria, the four daughters were additional blessing to Apostle Paul who was now hedged between anointed people. How lovely! I’m sure they had ‘all-night prayer’ Bible study, fasting prayer, intercession prayer, worship and what not! Imagine, four unmarried women in one room! It would be chaos if not for God! The fact that all of them are unmarried is no big deal as their lives were awesome serving men like Paul. Live a life of purpose! The Bible further tells us that ‘they stayed with Philip many days.’ ( verse 10)

When you are going through severe trials, God knows you cannot do it alone, He would send you good believers, pastors and also send you to the right church to learn the right doctrines. Open up to God and stay in the place that He has kept you!

Paul though was pressed in the spirit to go to Jerusalem; yet, his stay in the house of Philip equipped him spiritually for the warfare. Do not hastily rush into the enemy quarters, corporate worship, prayer and unity of believers smashes the enemy. Are you listening? God further sends prophet Agabus to Paul for further confirmation. When you are in the perfect will of God, He would send prophets to you with clear information, you don’t have to run around the town for prophets!
