Unfinished Business

John 4:34 “My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of Him who sent me and to finish his work…”

Our job, call, gift, talents, skills, ability, purpose, meaning, focus, drive, energy, worship, whole reason for existing is to take care of the business of God the Father!

Vs 35 “…open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe with harvest.”

1. Open your eyes!!!!

We are so distracted with our own lives, ideas, careers, hobbies etc…

We miss our whole purpose for being here!

To worship God with our lives and to WIN THE LOST!! PERIOD!!

We have fallen asleep

Concerned with our own lives and existence

Person drowning,

House on fire,

What difference can I actually make in a world of billions…it matters to the one you reach.

You must choose on your own!

Many “church-going” young people fall away because they are “riding on their parents coat-tails.”

They have never “chose” Christ on their own.

Make up your own mind to serve Christ today.

2 Peter 1:10 “…make your election (choice) sure…”

2. The fields are ripe with harvest

The “field” is our world, school, home, job, neighborhood, church.

People are looking for the “real” answer. GIVE IT TO THEM!

Tell the truth, speak the truth, LIVE THE TRUTH.

Our lives are THE message

Get in the game

Try anything for God

I tried out for my 5th grade basketball team, I was skinny and awkward but I tried and made it!

3. We know the outcome!

John 19:28 & 30 “Later, knowing that ALL was now complete…Jesus said “It is finished.”

“IT IS FINISHED!”

Jesus finished the work on the cross

He made a way for us to have fulfilled, complete, happy lives.

We need to pass the message on…

We are sinners

Our sin has kept us apart from God

Jesus died and shed His blood for our sins

He rose on the 3rd day

He is sitting at the right hand of God

Now we have access to God the Father.

We can go to Him 24/7

He is our friend, our father and HE LOVES US!!!
