Transition And Shift
Contributed by Brian Barrett on Apr 24, 2009 (message contributor)
Summary: Need to encourage your people times of change or do you sense that change is coming for you and your people? I trust that this outline will be a blessing to you.
TRANSITION
2 Cor 5:17
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
(KJV)
I chose this verse as a text not to discuss its theological stance. I have chosen it be cause it speaks very plainly about a TRANSITION in the life of a person.
TRANSITION: A passage from one state to another: CHANGE
SHIFT: To change the place, position or direction of: MOVE
The bible is full of TRANSITION: CHANGE, SHIFT: MOVE
In fact not too far into the bible we see TRANSITION and SHIFT.
A CHANGE in relationship and man MOVING from God…
Then we see God’s promise an unalterable CHANGE.
Gen 3:15
15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
(KJV)
We move on and time and time again we see God bringing TRANSITION AND SHIFT.
Things going one direction, then miraculously CHANGED and now going in another.
We see one being brought down and another brought up.
We see captivity then we see liberty.
We see weeping then we see joy.
We see darkness giving way to light.
We see death giving way to life.
We see the old giving way to the new.
WE SEE TRANSITION! WE SEE SHIFT!
THINGS CHANGING, THINGS MOVING!
These things did so, for no other reason than God said “it is time”.
What if tonight God is saying to you in your….”it is time”!
Here is a verse that resonates on the inside of me. It is a verse that was sown into my heart. I received it and have seen it over and over ever since.
Isa 43:19
19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
(KJV)
Behold: is use in expressing surprise.
I will do a new thing: unprecedented in its wonder
Now: at this time
It shall spring forth: spring up, to grow abundantly
John 10:10
10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
(KJV)
Eph 3:20
20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
(KJV)
4053 perissos-
superabundant (in quantity) or superior (in quality)
exceeding some number or measure or rank or need
a) over and above, more than is necessary, superadded
1) exceeding abundantly, supremely
2) something further, more, much more than all, more plainly
b) superior, extraordinary, surpassing, uncommon
pre-eminence, superiority, advantage, more eminent, more remarkable, more excellent
back to Is 43:19
shall you not know it: recognize, perceive, discern, KNOW
I will even make a way in the wilderness:
And rivers in the desert:
Three things I am believing God to do for you:
1. Family Miracle
2. Divine Favor
3. Lifetime Harvest
IN OTHER WORDS: I AM LOOKING FOR A TRANSITION/SHIFT!
