Summary: When you get in a situation like Joshua then tell me you are busy.

Josh 1:7-8

7 Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.

8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. KJV

Joshua had a great task in this command and he did not even have all of the Old Testament Scriptures. He had the Law and that was more than enough to seek to follow. The Pentateuch had more doctrine and direction than most people want to deal with and he was not to deviate from it to the right or the left.

How in the world can he do that? It takes a lot of time to do it. He had to meditate in in day and night as well as lead approximately three to five million people and run a military campaign. How can we complain that we do not have enough time because of our family and job responsibilities? Ouch! Was he prosperous? Yes he was because he allowed great infusion of the Law or the Word of God. We should take note and match our success against his and his daily habits of infusion to ours and make the appropriate adjustments. Some have drunk so much physical water that it killed them. All that will happen by drinking in massive amounts of the Word will be is that the flesh will die so that the Spirit will be better able to flow through us.
