Too Big To Miss

1 Samuel 17:12-37

This morning I will discuss- Facing unbeatable foes--Beating unbeatable odds

When everyone says, “You’re gonna lose”

That’s when God says, “Hang on my child,

We’re about to kick some butt”

I don’t serve a God - backs down, backs up, gives in or gives up

When battles rage against us, I can count on the LORD

When the odds are overwhelming- be like King DAVID

Tell story of Goliath

Everyone said “He’s too big to hit”- David said “2 big to miss”

Numbers 13: 1-3, 17-33

This was the land GOD HAD PROMISED “promised land”

Sent spies- good idea- depending on who your spies are

If Spies are cowards, religious, fakes, wimps- you’re in trouble

If spies- courageous, fearless, genuine, have vision- good shape

Here we see- it was mixed

12 guys sent- 10 came back cowards

2 came back ready to fight the battle

Each man saw the same thing

2 said “too big to miss”- 10 said “too big to hit”

How we solve our problems- depends on how we see our problems

If you see yourself as a victim- that’s how you’ll respond

If you see yourself as a victor- you’ll have control over – situation

IS YOUR PROBLEM

TOO BIG TO HIT or TOO BIG TO MISS

It seems lately God is testing my faith

Been pastoring here- 3 yrs. – there are people want me to fail

Been called -cult leader- weirdo- cheater- David Koresh- antichrist

People used to march around the church- casting out Demons

I used to take that personal- feel sorry for myself

I laugh at that stuff now----

When I see little problems and misunderstandings

I use to think- this could ruin me

Not now----my vision has changed

Matthew 5

11"Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

I would have been balling about it 2 yrs ago.

God has showed me the land I’ve been promised

I see it & I say “WE ARE WELL ABLE TO TAKE THE LAND”

When a problem arises in your life-

Say to yourself, “is this problem – 2 big to hit- 2 big to miss”

Genesis 1:26

God created us to have dominion- not just over animals

Dominion over- sickness, world, sin, I could go on and on

You have dominion over every unbeatable odd

Unbeatable foe

God created you to have DOMINION

1 John 5:3-5

You are an over comer- you have dominion

God didn’t make you to duck and cover and give up

He made you to have dominion

So how is it we overcome our: foes, problems, troubles….

Listen for God to lead you

Be sensitive to the Holy Spirit that is in you

Everything weapon you need, God will give you

Every power you need, God will supply

Be confident in God:

Hebrews 13 5Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you." 6So we may boldly say:

"The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?"

Be content with what you have and know God is faithful

GOD WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU NOR FORSAKE YOU

Don’t be fooled into believing you have a God that will drop you

When he doesn’t like what you’re doing—He wont get rid of you

Joshua 6: 1-7 (40 years later, still haven’t gone in- 10 wimps)

This is funny. What a slap in the face-

Waited all these years for a big tough army

Gathered troops, loaded the guns, filled the canons, fueled the jets

Say the word, God, and we’ll attack

Joshua comes back, they all ask, “What’s the plan of attack?”

Joshua says, ‘Get the trumpet players’

What????-

See------- the battle always belonged to God

This city wasn’t so hard to conquer after all

But Joshua listened to the Lord and did EXACTLY what he said

Had he done it his own way---marching would’ve done no good

Psalm 34: 1-10

There is no obstacle too big for you or your God

If God is for me, who can be against me?

Pick up your sword look at your Goliath AND DECIDE

Is he TOO BIG TO HIT----TOO BIG TO MISS
