TAKE HEED: HOW DO YOU SPEND YOUR TIME?

By Wade Martin Hughes Sr. Kyfingers@aol.com

Did you hear about the person that needed a longer blanket?

They cut off the top of the blanket and sowed it to the bottom?

Now how much longer is the blanket?

PEOPLE SEEM TO KEEP MINUTES AND WASTE HOURS...

James 4:14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life?

It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

The last words of Queen Elizabeth I:

All my possessions for a moment of time.

Time is like money, you can only spend it once?

YOU HAVE A MINUTE? (Unknown)

You have only just one minute,

Only sixty seconds in it.

Forced upon me--- can't refuse it.

But it is up to you to use it.

You must suffer it or lose it.

GIVE ACCOUNT IF YOU ABUSE IT.

Just a tiny little minute, but eternity is in it.

I. IN HEAVEN AND ETERNITY THE ANGELS DO NOT UDERSTAND TIME...

CAN WE SEE THE OBVIOUS AND DISCERN AND UNDERSTAND...

A. Linda and I have a COO COO CLOCK. We always stop and count as the bird sings.

One day the bird came out, one, two, three .... eight, nine, ten, ... twelve, thirteen, fourteen...

twenty, twenty one, twenty two... twenty nine, thirty, thirty one...

I SAID: LINDA, IT IS LATER THAN IT HAS EVER BEEN BEFORE...

B. TIME IS A LIMITED THING...

ONE DAY THE CLOCKS WILL STOP FOR YOU...

Matthew 16:3 And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and

lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the

signs of the times?

NIV

Matthew 16:3 and in the morning, 'Today it will be stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.'

You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs

of the times.

LB

Matthew 16:3 red sky in the morning means foul weather all day--but you can't read the

obvious signs of the times!

II. WHAT IS TIME?

Psalm 90: [4] For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and

as a watch in the night.

[5] Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep: in the morning they are

like grass which groweth up.

[6] In the morning it flourisheth, and groweth up; in the evening it is cut down, and withereth.

A. What is time?

The shadow on a sun dial?

Is it sand falling through an hour glass?

Is it the ticking second hand going around and around?

Is time light and darkness?

Is time weeks and months?

Is time seasons of cold and hot?

COULD TIME BE THE LIFE OF THE SOUL?

B. WHAT DOES GOD VALUE AND THING IMPORTANT?

GOD CREATED TIME.

TIME IS GOD'S GIFT TO YOU...

ALL OF GOD'S OTHER GIFTS ARE CONDITIONAL UPON TIME...

WHAT YOU DO WITH GOD'S TIME IS YOUR GIFT BACK TO HIM...

C. TIME AND TROUBLE ARE GOD'S TOOLS TO BUILD HIS PEOPLE....

III. GOD HAS BEEN NICE TO US... IF OUR DAYS WERE 1,000 YEARS, AND WE

LIVED TO BE 70... IF WE MESSED UP TODAY--- WE WOULD BE FOREVER DOOMED.

Genesis 1:5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night.

And the evening and the morning were the first day.

A. GOD CREATED TIME...

GOD MADE

SECONDS

A MINUTE... 60 SECONDS

HOURS... 60 MINUTES

DAY... 24 HOURS, 1440 MINUTES...

B.If we mess up today, we can change it...

TOMORROW WE WILL HAVE A FRESH START...

C. We change our lives: ONE DAY AT A TIME...

IV. GOD NEVER LOADS THE WEIGHT OF TOMORROW ON TODAY...

MANY ARE KILLING THEIR TIME WORRYING ABOUT TOMORROW...

TOMORROW BURDEN ADDS TO THE WEIGHT OF TODAY...

A. TODAY IS THE TOMORROW YOU WORRIED ABOUT YESTERDAY...

Matthew 6:28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they

grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:

[29] And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

[30] Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into

the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

[31] Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal

shall we be clothed?

[32] (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have

need of all these things.

[33] But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added
