TIME? WHAT DO WE DO WITH TIME? ANGER KILLS ROOTS?

THESE HAVE NO ROOT ---NO ROOTS? NO FRUITS!

By Wade Martin Hughes, Sr. Kyfingers@aol.com

TIME CAN BE A REAL KILLER... TIME HAS A TENADANCY TO MAKE US BITTER AND HARD...

Luke 8:13 They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.

HAVE WE EVER HONESTLY EVALUATED AND EXAMINE SELF?

These seemed to have gladly received THE WORD? IN ONE EAR AND OUT THE OTHER?

SEEMS TIME HAS BROUGHT INWARD HARDNESS OF HEART?

The hardness under the surface will cause DEATH IN TIME.

Good growth is more than just upwards... Good growth must reach downward in THE ROOT SYSTEM.

DO WE STIR THE POT?

FAN THE FLAME?

KEEP THE LOVE ALIVE?

KILLING TIME CAN BE THE ROOT OF OUR PROBLEMS...

YOUR PROBLEM IS NOT YOUR PROBLEM --- IT IS YOUR ATTITUDES TOWARD THE PROBLEM THAT WILL MAKE OR BREAK YOU...

Too often we cannot see --- OR WE REFUSE TO SEE THE REAL PROBLEM IS THE ROOT OF THE PROBLEM... The problem of the heart is the heart of the problem!

Hebrews 12:15 Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;

SICKLY OAKS FROM SICKLY ACORNS GROW.

TIME IS A GIFT... HOW WE USE OUR TIME CAN BE OUR GIFT BACK TO GOD!

TIME IS A LIMITED GIFT --- ONE OF OUR GREATEST SINS IS TO THINK WE HAVE PLENTY OF TIME?

BE HONEST, WHAT OUR YOU INVESTING YOUR TIME DOING?

DO WE WEIGH THE ETERNAL? TEMPORAL?

Psalm 118:24 This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

HAVE WE EVER CONSIDERED HOW TIME BRINGS CHANGE? LIKE IT OR NOT TIME MAKES NEW ROADS...

100 YEARS?

THE YEAR IS 1917 (source unknown)

The year is 1917 "One hundred years ago."

What a difference a century makes!

Here are some statistics for the Year 1917:

The average life expectancy for men was 47 years.

Fuel for cars was sold in drug stores only.

Only 14 percent of the homes had a bathtub.

Only 8 percent of the homes had a telephone.

The maximum speed limit in most cities was 10 mph.

The tallest structure in the world was the Eiffel Tower.

The average US wage in 1910 was 22 cents per hour.

The average US worker made between $200 and $400 per year.

A competent accountant could expect to earn $2000 per year.

A dentist $2,500 per year.

A veterinarian between $1,500 and $4,000 per year.

And, a mechanical engineer about $5,000 per year.

More than 95 percent of all births took place at home.

Ninety percent of all Doctors had NO COLLEGE EDUCATION!

Instead, they attended so-called medical schools, many of which were condemned in the press AND the government as "substandard."

Sugar cost four cents a pound, 5 pounds 20 cents.

Eggs were fourteen cents a dozen.

Coffee was fifteen cents a pound.

Most women only washed their hair once a month, and, used Borax or egg yolks for shampoo.

Canada passed a law that prohibited poor people from entering into their country for any reason.

The Five leading causes of death were:

1. Pneumonia and influenza

2. Tuberculosis

3. Diarrhea

4. Heart disease

5. Stroke

The American flag had 45 stars.

The population of Las Vegas, Nevada was only 30.

Crossword puzzles, canned beer, and iced tea hadn't been invented yet.

There was neither a Mother's Day nor a Father's Day.

Two out of every 10 adults couldn't read or write.

And, only 6 percent of all Americans had graduated from high school.

Marijuana, heroin, and morphine were all available over the counter at local corner drugstores.

Back then pharmacists said, "Heroin clears the complexion, gives buoyancy to the mind, regulates the stomach, bowels, and is, in fact, a perfect guardian of health!" (Shocking?). Eighteen percent of

Households had at least one full-time servant or domestic help.

There were about 230 reported murders in the ENTIRE U.S.A.!

It is impossible to imagine what it may be like in another 100 years.

TIME? What changes lie ahead? Moral values? How will the church look in 100 years? How will the family look?

NO ROOTS, HARDNESS, BITTERNESS HIDES UNDER THE SURFACE... TIME CAN DESTROY HOPE?

NEVER FORGET WITH TIME GOD PREPARES... COME LET US CONSIDER JONAH'S MINISTRY IN THE LIGHT OF THE TIME... NEVER FORGET GOOD USES TIME TO PREPARE HIS PEOPLE IF THEY WILL JUST LISTEN.

Jonah 4:4 Then said the LORD, Doest thou well to be angry? 5 So Jonah went out of the city, and sat on the east side of the city, and there made him a booth, and sat under it in the shadow, till he might see what would become of the city. 6 And the LORD God prepared a gourd, and made it to come up over Jonah, that it might be a shadow over his head, to deliver him from his grief. So Jonah was exceeding glad of the gourd. 7 But God prepared a worm when the morning rose the next day, and it smote the gourd that it withered. 8 And it came to pass, when the sun did arise, that God prepared a vehement east wind; and the sun beat upon the head of Jonah, that he fainted, and wished in himself to die, and said, It is better for me to die than to live. 9 And God said to Jonah, Doest thou well to be angry for the gourd? And he said, I do well to be angry, even unto death.
