Summary: What type of heart should we have to serve God?
I. A Caring Heart
1 Thessalonians 5:15 See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all.
II. A Joyful Heart
1 Thessalonians 5:16 Rejoice always,
III. A Prayerful Heart
1 Thessalonians 5:17 pray without ceasing,
IV. A Thankful Heart
1 Thessalonians 5:18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
V. An Open Heart
1 Thessalonians 5:19-21 Do not quench the Spirit. 20Do not despise prophecies. 21Test all things; hold fast what is good.
VI. A Pure Heart
1 Thessalonians 5:22 Abstain from every form of evil.
VII. A Ready Heart
1 Thessalonians 5:23 Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
