THOSE WHO WACTH FOR YOUR SOULS Hebrews 13:7, 24, 17 Intro: Preachers are not made their called
There are none that are perfect; not people, preachers, pew sitters
God wants for people to have a shepherd that’s under Christ.
Weather you want to heed to that, to be under a Shepherd is up to you.
He has always used a man to proclaim His Word and He always will.
It’s great when they want to hear, listen & obey (it’s very sweet)
God can speak through songs and through prayer, but God has intended for you to sit under a man who He has called to lead you and watch for your souls.
The Pastor will stand accountable--- was he obedient
You will stand accountable----were you obedient to hear it and to heed and to back him and to encourage him and to be in the right Spirit where you could hear The Word of God.
I thank God for the Pastors who watch for my soul, my spiritual well-being.
Who spoke to me the Word of God. ALL OF US NEED THIS
THINGS WE SHOULD EXPECT OF THOSE WHO WATCH FOR OUR SOULS
I. HE WILL BE A HOLY MAN OF GOD 2 Kings 4:8-10
A. Something is different
B. Filled with the Spirit
C. Compassionate about the work
D. Serious in his life, he knows God has called him
II. HE WILL BE CLOSE TO CHRIST Mark 3:13
A. A man of prayer
B. A man who seeks God’s will
C. A man who has something to say
D. A man who get his messages from God
III. HE WILL GET HIS MESSAGES FROM GOD John 15:15
A. He is delivering to you what God has delivered to him
B. When it’s from the Lord you will think:
1. someone told him about you
2. you’ll think he’s followed you for a month
3. It’s God who sees all and directs his message
C. His preaching will repel some, some may even leave
D. He ‘s not a man pleaser
E. He’s not a showman
F. Even if it hurts sometimes you ought to thank God for a man who will stand and tell what “thus saith the Lord”
IV. HE WILL BE SEPERATED BY GOD Acts 13:2
A. God has prepared his heart
B. He’s not just a educated ; he’s separated unto the Lord
C. He’s not a people pleaser; nor can he; he’s separated unto the Lord
D. He’s not accountable to the people; he’s separated unto the Lord
E. He’s the one who will rub your fur the wrong way
V. HE WILL TAKE CARE OF HIS HOME 1 Tim. 3:1-5
A. He will rule his own house well
B. He knows without his family his ministry is over
C. He’s not better than others; He’s appointed by God
D. Every preacher’s home is the devils target
E. He’s loving to his family, & loving his church
F. A church should be loving to the pastor’s family
VI. HE WILL SPEAK WITH HOLY BOLDNESS Titus 1:7-9
A. He brings conviction with compassion
B. His preaching is motivated by love (not lovey dovey)
C. He preaches Biblical convictions (not what I think)
D. He couldn’t do it the same if he tried
E. If you can ever intimidate him; he will never be able to W.F.Y.S
F. He is not a WEMP; he will bark loudly (Isa. 56:10)
VII. HE WILL STOP THE MOUTHS Titus 1:9-11
A. It is my responsibility to look after this people
B. I’ll be the one who will stand accountable for it
C. Sometimes the preacher has to Stop The Mouths
C. you know why because it’s to good to let two or three ruin it.
D. Some don’t do this and they get themselves into a corner
C. They get him sqeezed he can’t preach the Word of God anymore
D. They can have the biggest tither
E. They can have those who want to run the church
F. I just want a good spirit when I come to the house of God
G. If you used to smile, you used to encourage the preacher get on praying ground and get there where you can laugh and encourage the preacher again.
I thank God for those who watched for my soul
I Thank God for my church family, you have sent me letters & E-mails of encouragement, given wonderful gifts, helped me and my wife, you have held my arms up many times and thank God for you. It make it easier And you make it a joy to watch for your souls.
Closing: There are church in this hour that who are struggling and praying for a man that would come; Holy Man Of God, One that Communes with Christ, One that gets his messages from Heaven, One that looks after his family, One that preaches with Holy Boldness and they would to God that one of those would come by their church this hour and would care for their soul. That’s what their looking for.
