This World Needs Revival

THIS WORLD NEEDS

REVIVAL!!

ACTS 16:19-26

And when her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone, they caught Paul and Silas, and drew them into the market place unto the rulers,

And brought them to the magistrates,

Saying, these men being Jews, do exceedingly trouble our city

And teach customs, which are not lawful for us to receive, neither to observe, being Romans

And the multitude rose up together against them; and the magistrates rent of their clothes, and commanded to beat them

And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailer to keep them safely

Who, having received such a charge , thrust them

Into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks.

And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and

Sang praises unto God:

And the prisoners heard them!!

And suddenly there was a great earthquake,

So that the foundations of the prison were

Shaken: and immediately all the doors were

Opened, and every one’s bands were loosed!

May God add his blessing to the reading

Of His Word!!!

People what this whole world needs today

Is an old fashioned revival!!

We need it in the pews and we need

It in the pulpit as well!!!!!

I can remember 25 years ago, When we had

A revival it would last for 5 or 6 weeks and

About a hundred or more would get saved!!!!

Today if you can get a Revival to last 5 days

You have done something special!!!!!

And if you can SEE a couple of souls come to

Lord you have really seen an accomplishment!

Here tonight in the book of Acts Paul and

Silas were preaching the greatest message

That was ever known to Mankind!

They were preaching the message of Jesus!

The Apostle Paul was letting people know

In ACTS 19:26

That there should be no God’s

Which are made with hands.

BUT when they arrived into a City

Their message was very offensive to the Romans!!

Hey I know how they feel!!!

What I preach a lot of times people get pretty offensive TOO!!!

PEOPLE LISTEN TO ME TONIGHT

WHAT THIS WORLD NEEDS IS AN OLD FASHIONED REVIVAL!!

If you read the entire chapter you’ll find that Paul and Silas were caught and taken into the market place to the rulers!!

ACTS 17:8 SAYS

And they troubled the people and the rulers of the city, when they heard these things.

They were brought to the magistrates and

They were accused of causing great trouble

The bible tells us that they were teaching

Customs, and this was against the law for the

Romans to be taught!!

So the multitude rose up against them and

The magistrates ripped off their clothes!

And they were commanded to be beaten!!!

2nd Corinthians 6:4, 5 says:

but in all things approving ourselves

as the ministers of God

in much patience, in afflictions, in

necessities in distresses,

in stripes in imprisonment’s, in tumults,

in labors, in watchings, in fastings;

These guys Silas and Paul were the modern

day preachers of their time

They preached with passion and not to mention

BOLDNESS!!!

And because of this - there was a stump slap

dab in the middle of their journey to spread

the Gospel!!

But it turned out to be a terrible time in their

Ministries.

They had been beaten for spreading the word

Of God!!

They didn’t have anymore clothes

And they didn’t have their freedom

They were locked up in the local prison

And they were prisoners in the city WHERE

They were preaching THE WORD!!!!

Today if We got threw in jail and a beating for preaching The word of God!!

We’d be thinking about keeping our mouth shut

WOULDN’T WE????

This was a low time for these guys - they lost everything they had!!

And they were beaten for spreading the word!

If you think about it They didn’t really have

Anything to praise God about!!!

Here they preached the message of Jesus Christ and

They were fulfilling their calling that

Jesus had commanded them and commissioned

Them to do!!!!

But there’s something I really Love about

These two Ministers for Jesus

At Midnight Paul and Silas Prayed, and sang

praises unto God

And the prisoners heard them!!!

Listen to me tonight folks if you find yourself imprisoned with satan and the hour is late

Honey all you have to do is

Don’t give up - Keep your faith in God

You just keep on holding on to that promise

That Jesus has made in his word

It says:

I WILL NEVER LEAVE THEE, NOR
