THIS WORLD NEEDS
REVIVAL!!
ACTS 16:19-26
And when her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone, they caught Paul and Silas, and drew them into the market place unto the rulers,
And brought them to the magistrates,
Saying, these men being Jews, do exceedingly trouble our city
And teach customs, which are not lawful for us to receive, neither to observe, being Romans
And the multitude rose up together against them; and the magistrates rent of their clothes, and commanded to beat them
And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailer to keep them safely
Who, having received such a charge , thrust them
Into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks.
And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and
Sang praises unto God:
And the prisoners heard them!!
And suddenly there was a great earthquake,
So that the foundations of the prison were
Shaken: and immediately all the doors were
Opened, and every one’s bands were loosed!
May God add his blessing to the reading
Of His Word!!!
People what this whole world needs today
Is an old fashioned revival!!
We need it in the pews and we need
It in the pulpit as well!!!!!
I can remember 25 years ago, When we had
A revival it would last for 5 or 6 weeks and
About a hundred or more would get saved!!!!
Today if you can get a Revival to last 5 days
You have done something special!!!!!
And if you can SEE a couple of souls come to
Lord you have really seen an accomplishment!
Here tonight in the book of Acts Paul and
Silas were preaching the greatest message
That was ever known to Mankind!
They were preaching the message of Jesus!
The Apostle Paul was letting people know
In ACTS 19:26
That there should be no God’s
Which are made with hands.
BUT when they arrived into a City
Their message was very offensive to the Romans!!
Hey I know how they feel!!!
What I preach a lot of times people get pretty offensive TOO!!!
PEOPLE LISTEN TO ME TONIGHT
WHAT THIS WORLD NEEDS IS AN OLD FASHIONED REVIVAL!!
If you read the entire chapter you’ll find that Paul and Silas were caught and taken into the market place to the rulers!!
ACTS 17:8 SAYS
And they troubled the people and the rulers of the city, when they heard these things.
They were brought to the magistrates and
They were accused of causing great trouble
The bible tells us that they were teaching
Customs, and this was against the law for the
Romans to be taught!!
So the multitude rose up against them and
The magistrates ripped off their clothes!
And they were commanded to be beaten!!!
2nd Corinthians 6:4, 5 says:
but in all things approving ourselves
as the ministers of God
in much patience, in afflictions, in
necessities in distresses,
in stripes in imprisonment’s, in tumults,
in labors, in watchings, in fastings;
These guys Silas and Paul were the modern
day preachers of their time
They preached with passion and not to mention
BOLDNESS!!!
And because of this - there was a stump slap
dab in the middle of their journey to spread
the Gospel!!
But it turned out to be a terrible time in their
Ministries.
They had been beaten for spreading the word
Of God!!
They didn’t have anymore clothes
And they didn’t have their freedom
They were locked up in the local prison
And they were prisoners in the city WHERE
They were preaching THE WORD!!!!
Today if We got threw in jail and a beating for preaching The word of God!!
We’d be thinking about keeping our mouth shut
WOULDN’T WE????
This was a low time for these guys - they lost everything they had!!
And they were beaten for spreading the word!
If you think about it They didn’t really have
Anything to praise God about!!!
Here they preached the message of Jesus Christ and
They were fulfilling their calling that
Jesus had commanded them and commissioned
Them to do!!!!
But there’s something I really Love about
These two Ministers for Jesus
At Midnight Paul and Silas Prayed, and sang
praises unto God
And the prisoners heard them!!!
And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken
And immediately all the doors were opened and every one’s bands were loosed
Listen to me tonight folks if you find yourself imprisoned with satan and the hour is late
Honey all you have to do is
Don’t give up - Keep your faith in God
You just keep on holding on to that promise
That Jesus has made in his word
It says:
I WILL NEVER LEAVE THEE, NOR
FORSAKE THEE!!!
He’ll be right there with us and He’ll be our help in our Time of trouble and our time of need!!!!
2nd Corinth. 11:23 says:
Are they ministers of Christ?
(I speak as a fool)
I am more; in labors more abundant,
In stripes above measure,
In prisons more frequent,
In deaths oft!!!
Thrice I was beaten with rods
Once I was stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck,
A night and a day I have
Been in the deep!!!
You don’t need to listen to the devil
The Apostle Paul didn’t listen to the devil
Don’t you look to the left
Don’t you look to the right
Just keep your eyes straight ahead and keep
Them focused on Jesus Christ
Stay in God’s perfect will!!!
And He’ll always be right there for you!!!
LOOK TO JESUS!!!!
You might find yourself in the midnight hour
You might find yourself doubting that there is a God
But listen to me and listen to me good
God is not a God who will leave you stranded
In the midnight hour
And God won’t leave you in bad times
And God won’t leave you in the good times
God will be there for you all the time!!!!
When your stuck in the mire he’ll be there to
pull you out!
The bible says give God praise in all things!!
And be bold for Him like the Apostle Paul
1st Thess says;
We were bold in our God to speak unto you the gospel of God with much contention
When your down - PRAISE HIM
WHEN YOUR UP - PRAISE HIM
WHEN YOUR IN THE VALLEY - PRAISE HIM
WHEN YOUR UP ON THE MOUNTAIN
PRAISE HIM
WHEN THE PRAISES GO UP
THE BLESSING’S COME DOWN
You keep praising Him with everything
Inside of you Just like Paul and Silas did!!!
Your shackle’s of bondage will fall off!!!
They had no place to go
They had shackles on their feet
They seemed to have no hope
But what did they do??
They began to sing praises to the one
With the Key TO IT ALL PEOPLE
THEY SANG PRAISES WITH EVERYTHING
THEY HAD IN THEM
AND ABOUT THE TIME THEIR PRAISES REACHED GOD’S THRONE - HE UNLOCKED THE CHAINS AND THEY WERE DANCIN FREE
AND ALL BECAUSE THEY GAVE HIM
THE PRAISE THE HONOR AND THE GLORY!
PRAISE HIM IN THE MORNING
PRAISE HIM IN THE NOON TIME
PRAISE HIM IN THE EVENING TIME
WORSHIP HIM AND I’M HERE TO TELL YOU
THAT GOD WILL MAKE A WAY FOR YOU
HE WILL UNLOCK YOUR CHAINS
JUST LIKE HE DID PAUL AND SILAS!!!
WORDSHIP THE KING
PRAISE HIS HOLY NAME
GLORIFY HIS NAME
GIVE GOD THE GLORY
Acts 4:31 says:
And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they
were all filled with the Holy Ghost,
They turned the world upside down!!!!!
And God didn’t cause the earthquake to shake off their chains and free them
He did it to save the Jailer!!!!
People we have Revivals today!!
We go through the motions today!!
The greatest revival of all was right after
The day of Pentecost!!
The same power that empowered Paul and Silas
To preach the Jesus message - today is still flowing
God hasn’t changed – We Have!!!!
God still moves!!!!!
He is the same yesterday, today and forever!!!
PEOPLE HE AIN’T GONNA CHANGE!!!!!
This world has got desperate People
And Desperate Times call for Desperate measures
Acts 5:19 says:
The angel of the Lord by night opened
The prison doors, and brought them forth
Hell is larger right now than its ever been
And enlarges more everyday
Hell wasn’t intended for you and I
Hell was made for the devil and his fallen angels
The Bible says
What does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and looses his own soul???
People its time for the church today to break out
And its time for God to Break in and
Break down the wall and the strongholds that
Satan and hell has built!!!
Paul and Silas were helping people
They were healing the sick
They were reaching out to the poor
They were standing against evil
They were spreading the Word of God
They are good citizens!!!
ACTS 12:10 SAYS:
When they were past the first and the second
Ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and forthwith the angel departed from him!!
We are all surrounded by problems
But the solution is just a prayer away
God has all our problems under control
All you have to do is hand them over to HIM
Our sails may be torn
Our boat might be battered
And chaos might be creeping in
But Jesus is laying there sleeping in the boat
Waiting for us to wake him
So he can calm the storm!!!!!
So you see folks It don’t matter
What the situation is
God has the solution
No matter what the hurt
God can heal it
No matter how desperate we may be
God is there to deliver us
No matter what the sin is
He is the one who forgives the sin
No matter how much hell and the devil you face
GOD is the HELP
HE IS THERE WAITING FOR YOU TO
SAY YES
HE’S WAITING FOR YOU TO LET HIM INTO
YOUR HEART!!!!
