Thirsty for God, For His Word?

Psalm 42:1 "As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God."

As I was learning how to parent my boys, I asked God to help me pass on what it means to be thirsty for God, what it means to love God’s word. He gave me this T.H.I.R.S.T.Y. acrostic.

T - THIRST

John 7:17 "If anyone is willing to do His will, he will know of the teaching, whether it is of God or whether I speak from Myself.

Job 23:12 ""I have not departed from the command of His lips; I have treasured the words of His mouth more than my necessary food."

Matthew 4:4 "But answering He said, "It has been written: 'The man shall live not by bread alone, but by every word coming out of the mouth of God.'"

H - HEAR

Mark 4:23 "If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear."

Numbers 7:89 "Now when Moses went into the tent of meeting to speak with Him, he heard the voice speaking to him from above the mercy seat that was on the ark of the testimony, from between the two cherubim, so He spoke to them."

Romans 10:17 "So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ."

I - INVESTIGATE
