THE TRUE SCRIPTURES: 10-27-07 2ND TIM. 3:16-17
Today we’ll talk just for a little while about the true WORD of God. There are several so called bibles on the market today and it seems as though there are many people that don’t realize that there is only One True Bible for the English speaking people, they seem to believe that some of the others are much easier to understand.
Please have you a pen and paper ready, today I want to tell you and show you some of the many errors in the NIV and if you’re a genuine believer you trash your NIV if you might have one.
2ND TIM. 3:16-17 16All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
Unbelievers dismiss the scriptures as the work of men. And many of those who profess to believe in God have also lost their respect for the Bible.
"All Scripture..."
The word "scripture" refers to those "holy scriptures” sacred writings" that Paul mentions in vs. 15.
“Scripture,” is not just any writings, but those that are inspired of God. They are called "prophecy of scripture" in 2nd pet. 1: 21 21For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
Do you think that any verses in the bible should be removed? Do you think the Lord Jesus meant what He said in Rev.22: 18-19 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: 19And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
If you have your pen & paper ready I want you to jot these scripture references down that I’m about to give you.
Listen; the NIV has taken completely out of the bible these verses that I’m about to give you.
In our KJ bible we find these verses:
Matthew 17:21 howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.”
Matthew 18:11 For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.”
Matthew 23:14 Woe unto you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayer.”
Now remember these verses are not in the NIV
Mark 7:16, “If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.”
Mark 9:44, “Where their worm dieth not and the fire is not quenched.”
Mark 11:26, “But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in Heaven forgive your trespasses:”
Luke 23:17, “For of necessity he must release one unto them at the feast.”
Remember these verses are left out of the NIV.
John 5:4, “For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.”
Acts 8:37, “And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said. I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”
These verses are completely left out of the New International Version. (NIV)
The reason being the NIV used two Roman Catholic texts, Vaticanus and Sinaiticus as leading authority.
Where as our King James Bible came from a totally different group of manuscripts: “Textus Receptus”
The Received Text was completed as early as 150 A.D. It came from Antioch in the Roman province of Asia.
It is known as The Syrian, Antiochan or Peshitta version. Martin Luther translated it into German and William Tyndale into English.
Tyndale’s Bible became the foundation of The King James Bible, first published in 1611 A.D.
Prom the very start, the Roman Catholic papacy opposed TheReceived Text.
Remember, The Lord closes out His Word with these words:
Revelation 22:19 “And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy. God shall take away his part out of the Book of Life and out of the holy city and from the things which are written in this book.”
--------
Listen to these verses as I read them from the KJV, and then from the NIV, listen how the true meaning is changed completely.
KJB- Psalm 10: 5. Is Speaking of the wicked “His ways are always grievous.”
NIV- “His ways are always prosperous.”
