Summary: Provision is the act of receiving all that you need from God.
The Word as Provision
Text: John 1:29
An act of receiving that which you need.
The ultimate need of man is forgiveness of sin.
John preached repentance, but man would renege
Jesus Christ provided the way for man to eternally be reconciled to God.
You cannot make a success out of sin!
John asks us to do three things:
Look
Microscopically
Macroscopically
Periscopically
Listen
Outer ear
Inter ear
Obey
Conclusion: after all of the laws and commands of sacred scripture
Jesus reduces all of it to two things: love thy neighbor as I have loved you. Greater love has no man than this that he lay down his life for his friends.
Friends are those who do the will of the Father.
What God gives is his word as power, peace, person and provision.
