Youth Sermon: The Weight of Waiting

Let it all out

You know when you're so frustrated, and you just want to scream into your pillow? Well, God's cool with that. He wants you to be real with Him, to tell Him exactly how you're feeling. It's like He's the ultimate best friend who's always there to listen, even when it's 3 am.

Imagine your feelings are like a balloon. If you keep filling it up without letting anything out, it's gonna pop, right? But if you let some air out, it's easier to handle. That's what it's like when we talk to God about our feelings.

He wants you to be real with Him, to tell Him exactly how you're feeling.

No score-keeping

God's not like that one friend who always brings up that one embarrassing thing you did in 6th grade. He doesn't keep a record of our mess-ups. He's all about forgiveness and second chances. So, no matter how many times you've messed up, God's love for you doesn't change.

Waiting isn't wasting time

Waiting isn't just sitting around twiddling your thumbs. It's like being in the locker room before the big game. You're getting ready, you're preparing. You're praying, listening for God's game plan.

God's got your back

Even when it feels like you've been waiting forever, remember that God loves you like crazy. He's got a plan to make things right, to heal the hurt, to fix the broken. He's like the ultimate superhero, always there to save the day.

Life Application

Next time you're stuck in the waiting game, try these steps. Let it all out to God, remember He's not keeping score, use the time to prepare and remember, God's got your back.

Let's pray

God, thanks for always being there, even in the waiting. Help us to be real with you, to remember your forgiveness, to use our waiting time wisely, and to trust in your love. Amen.
